Camden wins second straight title, third in seven years

Two returns for touchdowns in the first few minutes of the game helped Camden County to its second straight Class 5A state title. The Wildcats took a 31-3 victory over an overwhelmed Northside squad.

The game started out with a kickoff return for a touchdown by Ean Days, then, on a punt after Northside’s first possession, Steven Murphy took it back for another score. On Northside’s second possession, quarterback Briar Van Brunt’s shovel pass was intercepted, setting up another touchdown.

Camden County moved to 13-2 on the season and Northside drops to 13-2 with the loss.
