Bulldogs fall to Carver-Columbus, take on Star’s Mill

It was another tough game for the football team, as the Bulldogs lost 34-0 to Carver-Columbus on Friday night. Head coach Kenneth Miller is still in search of his first win as the new head coach of the Bulldogs, but has received no favors from the schedule makers.

Coming off a perfect 15-0 season and a Class 3A championship, the visiting Tigers were looking to defend their title and didn’t care if they had to go through a team that was trying to rebuild to do it. On the bright side for the Bulldogs, the team held Carver to just 34 points, a feat only accomplished once by a Carver opponent during last year’s regular season. Miller’s squad looked more consistent offensively, but still couldn’t compete with the speed of Carver’s defensive players. Next week, the Bulldogs travel to Starr’s Mill for their first taste of action in Region 5-AAAA. … While the football team lost to one of the state’s Carver schools, the volleyball team was able to tackle the Carver school from Atlanta. The Lady Bulldogs got their second win of the season, as they took down Carver-Atlanta in straight sets on Thursday night.
