Less than 30 minutes away from kickoff between Georgia and Alabama, and players from both teams are warming up on the field. The stadium is about 45-percent full as fans are still packed along the bridge and filing into the stadium.
Once again the request of a “blackout” by Mark Richt has been met and the majority of fans are wearing black. Alabama fans have decided to make themselves stand out by wearing white shirts. The Bulldog players are wearing black jerseys and the Georgia insignia in the end zones are painted in all black. There has been some speculation that the Bulldogs may add a twist to the blackout, possibly by wearing black pants or something along those lines. They are warming up in their normal pants at this time.
The stadium has a playoff-type feel. Undoubtedly, if there was a college football playoff, the games would feel like this. Let’s see if the action on the field live up to the hype.
