Jake Higginbotham earned the win in relief with seven strikeouts in three innings of work. … McEachern slipped past Harrison 4-3 as the Indians scored the game-winning run in the bottom of the eighth on a Harrison fielding error. Trey Harris had a two-run triple to tie the game before Jared Walker scored the winning run on an error by the Hoyas’ third baseman. … Kell also took advantage of a miscue to escape with a victory over Sprayberry. The Longhorns rallied from a 4-2 hole to win 5-4 after Bradley Taylor scored the game-winning run on a throwing error in the bottom of the seventh inning. Ryan Losito helped Kell rally with two hits and two runs driven in. … Osborne also won Wednesday by a 5-4 score when Martin Logan drove home Nile Goings with two outs in the seventh inning. Logan earlier crushed a two-run home run to help Osborne pull off the win. … Class AAAAAA No. 2 Walton crushed Cherokee 16-2 as Stephen Wrenn provided two hits and an RBI while Luke Manzo tallied five hits and drove home one. Henry Rowling got in on the fun with a three-run home run, part of a Raiders’ eight-run first-inning outburst. … Finally, Class AA No. 2 Jefferson swept a Wednesday doubleheader against Social Circle. The Dragons run-ruled Social Circle in the first game 13-1 before slipping past in Game 2 1-0. Jake Franklin had three hits and two RBIs in the first game before earning the win in the second contest.
