Buccaneers to scrimmage North Cobb Christian

The football team should get an idea of how much it has learned so far when the Buccaneers scrimmage fellow first-year squad North Cobb Christian this Friday. The team has had huge support from the student body and parents. Money has been raised to help with the startup costs of the team, which is in excess of $300,000. … The softball team is on a roll, winning four out of its last five games. Caitlin O’Shea has been the star of the team, pitching three shutouts and hitting the first-ever home run for Allatoona earlier this season. … The volleyball team managed to take the second game 25-19 of a three-game set against North Paulding last week, but dropped the final game for with a 2-1 loss. … The cross country teams had several representatives in the LaGrange Invitational last Saturday. Henry Stevens-Carty placed fourth overall in the varsity 5K run with a time of 17:47, while the boys JV team placed first overall in their run. The JV girls also placed first overall in their meet, with Natalie Backshaw recording the best time at 24:24.
