Brodie McWhorter Is A Name To Know As His Recruiting Heats Up

Brodie McWhorter could become a hot name on the recruiting trail this spring and summer. After an impressive 2023 season, McWhorter continues to be a name that is gaining traction in the recruiting world. That success led to him picking up an offer today from the Georgia Bulldogs.

He was seen earlier this week dunking a basketball and showing his true athleticism. On the dunk, you can see him rising and finishing with minimal effort a testament to his athletic ability.

“Brodie works in the weight room every day. I can’t remember the last two years of him missing a workout. He is a weight room junkie. I am predicting Brodie will be an elite athlete in the next 12 months because he is getting bigger, stronger, and faster,” said Cass head coach Steve Gates.

He remains unranked on all the major recruiting platforms but could garner more national attention in spring and summer, especially with spring football and 7 on 7 competitions. McWhorter now holds offers from Florida State, Georgia, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Troy, UAB, West Virginia, Vanderbilt, USF, and West Virginia.

McWhorter led Cass to its first winning season since 2020 and led the Colonels on a memorable playoff run. Cass defeated #1 Kell on the road in the first round of the playoffs in a game that was televised on the Peachtree Sports Network. In that game, he was named Gatorade Offensive Player of the Game after his stellar performance. He also led the Colonels past a tough Mays team in the second round before falling to eventual state champion Coffee in the quarterfinals.

Brodie was invited to the Georgia Elite Classic in December. It’s an all-star showcase that puts some of the best talent in the state on a big platform where the games are televised throughout the state. In the Georgia Elite Classic, McWhorter threw for 158 yards and two touchdowns in the all-star game and showed he was one of the best quarterbacks in the state.

Brodie has the potential to be a national prospect, especially with a strong spring and summer. He has a lot of D1 programs’ attention and will only rise in the coming months.

“Brodie McWhorter is a class act kid and does what he is supposed to do every single day,” said Gates.

It has been a great week for the McWhorters. Brodie landed an offer from the Bulldogs and his brother Bear (Arkansas commit) landed a high school NIL deal.

Cass will be a fun team to watch in 2024 and will be featured in the Corky Kell Dave Hunter Classic against Callaway to open the season.
