Boys hoops holds on in overtime against East Paulding

The Marietta Blue Devils hosted the Friday night’s game against East Paulding. Senior Kelcie Bedford won the tip-off for Marietta pushing the Devils to a good start and putting points on the board early in the game. With a low-scoring half it ended at 23-29 with East Paulding leading the Blue Devils. East Paulding held a nine-point lead at the end of the third. Marietta’s Chris Tanzy had 16 points in the first three quarters, leading the Devils to come back with a three-point lead. With only 10 seconds left in the fourth quarter, East Paulding shot a 3-pointer and tied the game up at 49-49 to send it into overtime. Tanzy was fouled on a 3-point attempt in the overtime period, making two of the free throws and bringing Marietta to a two-point lead, 51-49. Marietta scored four more points and left East Paulding scoreless with the final score at 55-49.
