Early signing period produced some expected signings with a few flips by recruits from one big-name team to the other. But several top recruits remain unsigned heading toward National Signing Day on February 7 and here’s a glance at several of the state’s best players who have yet to put ink to paper for a college team.

Mill Creek Safety Trajen Greco - Greco was a two-way starter for the Mill Creek Hawks in 2023 after primarily playing corner in 2022. He helped lead the Hawks to its first-ever state championship in 2022. Greco is one of the top safeties in the state of Georgia and ranks as high as the #26 player, according to 247Sports. He was invited to play in the All-American Bowl which will be held in San Antonio, Texas. Greco also won Gwinnett County Player of the Year and was the leading receiver for Mill Creek as a senior with 549 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns. One of his most memorable moments from this season came against Buford in a nationally televised game on ESPN where he caught the ball one-handed while falling. The play made SportsCenter Top 10. Greco was previously committed to Georgia Tech before decommitting recently in November. His top three stands right now are USC, Missouri, and Georgia Tech. He is set to announce where he is signing on January 6.
Bowdon QB Kyler McGrinn – After moving from Alabama in the summer, McGrinn helped lead Bowdon to their second consecutive championship. In the state championship against Manchester, McGrinn rushed for 221 yards and three touchdowns. He nearly became the third person to rush for 2,000 yards and pass for 2,000 yards but missed it by 32 yards. McGrinn combined for 58 total touchdowns and 4,154 yards of offense. His best game of the season came against Christian Heritage where he threw for 298 yards and three touchdowns and rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns in a 48-17 win. McGrinn has offers from Savannah State, Shorter, Andrew College, Cumberland, UVA-Wise, and Reinhardt.
Woodward Academy Safety CJ Heard – CJ Heard is an ESPN four-star prospect who was previously committed to Florida State. Heard finished his senior year with 66 tackles, seven tackles for loss, six pass breakups, and two interceptions and helped lead Woodward Academy to the state championship for the first time in 43 years. Heard is a hard-hitting safety that is exceptional on the back end in coverage. He was a weapon on the offensive side of the ball for Woodward Academy as they used him in multiple sets on offense and tried to get the ball in his hands. He has a nose for football and is not afraid to ring your bell if he sees you in the open field. He’s set to sign on National Signing Day in February and holds over 50+ offers.
ELCA RB Brandon Hood – Hood’s breakout year came as a sophomore where he rushed for 1,381 yards and eight touchdowns in 2021. He rushed 100 yards in seven games that season. Hood had a great bounce-back season in 2023 after tearing his ACL as a junior. Hood finished his senior year with 708 total yards and six touchdowns and was selected to the Region 5-2A first-team by Georgia High School Football Daily. Hood currently holds offers from Coastal Carolina, Tennessee, Kentucky, LSU, Kansas State, Auburn, Appalachian State, Liberty, South Florida, Louisville, and Georgia State.
Buford LB Bryson Banks – Banks was a starting linebacker Buford and was the second leading tackler with 56 on a star-studded defense. He was a consistent player for the Buford linebacking core the last two seasons and was named to the 1st team in Region 8-7A. Banks was originally committed to James Madison before decommitting on December 16th. Banks was also named defensive player of the game for his pick-six and defensive effort in a win against Marietta on Peachtree TV earlier this season. He’s a player that performs brightest when the lights come on and posted one of his best games of the season against Mill Creek on ESPN finishing with nine tackles and a tackle for loss. Banks holds offers from James Madison, Georgia State, and UCF.
Walton ATH Jordan Bride - Bride is probably one of the best athletes left on the board. Bride is a player who stands out on the field on both sides of the ball and just makes plays wherever you place him. Offensively, he finished his season with 719 receiving yards and seven touchdowns for the Walton Raiders who made it to the state championship. Defensively, Bride led the Raiders with five interceptions and was matched up with the opponent’s best offensive player throughout the season. He came up with a critical interception in the state championship against Milton to help give his team momentum and get back into the game against one of the best receivers in the 2025 class, CJ Wiley. Bride was previously committed to Navy before announcing his recruitment was open on X December 14th. He holds over 20 offers and is an exceptional athlete who plays bigger than his size.
Grayson WR John Cineas - Cineas is a three-star prospect who made history for Grayson. He became the first receiver in Grayson’s history to post a 1,000-yard season and finished his senior season with ten receiving touchdowns. His best performance came in round one of the playoffs against Richmond Hill where he had 167 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Cineas is a big play receiver who can win the 50-50 ball and is a threat to score on any play. He’s also a threat in the return game as he finished with four kickoff returns for touchdowns. Opposing coaches who have gone against him have even raved about his play and how tough of a cover he is. He holds 14 offers notably from Cincinnati, Louisville, Georgia Southern, Georgia State, Western Kentucky, and Marshall.
Walton WR Cameran Loyd – Loyd is one of the most dangerous receivers left in the state of Georgia. He had one of the best varsity seasons in his career finishing with his first 1,000-yard season. Loyd led the Walton Raiders in catches (63) receiving yards (1,383), yards per game (92.2), and yards per catch (22.0). He finished his senior year third in receiving yards in the Peach State. He caught a touchdown that nearly brought Walton back in the championship game. One of his standout games came against rival North Cobb where the Raiders trailed 21-0. Loyd caught fire and had one of his best games of the season finishing with 196 receiving yards and three touchdowns. A game that helped put Walton in the driver’s seat for a region crown. Loyd recently picked up offers from Wofford and UTEP. He holds offers from Austin Peay, Wagner, Navy, and Charles Southern.
Mountain View TE Noah Onyia – Despite being new to the game of football, Onyia holds the tools to be a great prospect on the next level. Onyia was a hot name on the recruiting trail this past summer picking up a bevy of offers. He holds offers from Mississippi State, Georgia Tech, Memphis, Troy, Western Kentucky, Arkansas State and more. Onyia has great athleticism and his 6’5 220 frame makes him a difficult matchup for any opposing defense. While in high school he played tight end, but projects as a wide receiver on the next level. Onyia also played basketball in high school and uses his frame well to shield defenders and come down with contested catches. Onyia is an interesting prospect to see where he lands and his development on the next level.
Jefferson OL Brian Senter - Senter was the starting left tackle for the Jefferson Dragons and helped lead them to a region title in AAAAA. Senter is exceptional in pass protection and great at creating lanes in the run game. Senter is a three-star prospect according to 247 Sports. He also placed 5th in the GHSA 5A state meet in shot put as a junior in the spring. Senter has great upside and already possesses good size for the next level standing at 6 ’3 and 285 pounds. He decommitted from Troy on December 18th and currently holds offers from Troy, Georgia State, Middle Tennessee State, Richmond, Tennessee Tech, Western Carolina, and Southeast Missouri State.
Clinch County WR Jeremy Bell – Bell was named Region-A Division II player of the year in his senior season. Bell was also named to the Division II all-state team by Recruit Georgia. Bell possesses a lot of speed on the field and is a multi-sport athlete (basketball, football, and track. When you turn on the tape and look at his film, the speed is apparent, especially with his ability to separate from defenders on his route running and make big plays. He won the Class A Div. II state championship in track as a junior setting a personal-best 50.70 in the 400M. Bell was the leading receiver for the Panthers and helped lead them to their first undefeated region season since 2016. He announced his decommitment from Indiana on December 4 and is currently still deciding from 23 other offers.
Pierce County QB Cade McGatha – McGatha had one of the best seasons you will see at the quarterback position. He accounted for nearly 95% of the offense for the Bears this season. In their 35-7 semifinal win against Fitzgerald, McGatha passed or ran on 53 of 55 plays. In the state championship, McGatha finished the game with six total touchdowns — four rushing and two passing — and 375 total yards in the game and made history by joining Troup’s Taeo Todd – the only other player to pass for 2,000 yards and rush for 2,000 yards in a season. McGatha’s 53 carries were his most in a game this season and finished off the three-overtime thriller with a walk-off touchdown. McGatha was named Region 3-2A offensive player of the year and led the Bears to their second state championship in five seasons.
Columbia DL Edwin Moore Jr – In the regular season, Moore made 63 tackles (24.5 TFL), 6 sacks, a pass break up, an forced fumble and an fumble recovery. He helped lead Columbia to its first quarterfinal finish since 1997. He was a force defensively leading the team with 12 sacks in his breakout season. Moore was also selected as Iron Men of the Year by Georgia High School Football Daily. His best game of the season came against Towers where he finished with eight tackles and four sacks in the game. The senior currently holds 17 offers with several D1 programs interested.
Stockbridge DE Kam Reese – Reese had one of the best seasons this year at defensive end. He possesses great speed off the edge and is adept at fighting off the hands of opposing lineman. Reese is a disruptive and relentless player who never gives up on the play until the whistle is blown. His 20 sacks helped him finish second in the state only behind Tyler Moore (Luella) who had a half sack more. Reese finished with 96 tackles and 45 tackles for loss. He led Stockbridge to its first state championship appearance in program history and was a big reason why the Tigers produced five shutouts this year. Reese currently holds offers from Alabama State, Union College, and Murray State, and is one of the better prospects still unsigned after signing day.
Heard County ATH LJ Green – Green was the leading receiver for Heard County and won Region 4-A Division I Player of the Year. Recruit Georgia also named Green to their first-team All-State He finished his senior season with 605 yards and six touchdowns and produced 46 tackles, three pass breakups, and two fumble recoveries on defense. Green is a multi-sport athlete who took home a state championship in the triple jump in 2022. He announced his decommitment from Georgia Southern on November 30th. Green holds offers from Georgia Southern, Western Michigan, and Southern Illinois. He recently picked up an offer from East Tennessee State earlier today and looks poised to sign on National Signing Day in February.
North Oconee RB Tate Titshaw – Titshaw was selected to Region 8-4A all-region running back. He was a two-way starter for the Titans this season and finished his senior year with 17 total touchdowns. He received a three-star rating from 247sports in December and is currently unsigned. He committed to Navy back in September but has yet to sign his letter of intent. On3 Sports currently has him leading toward South Carolina. Titshaw is a strong downhill runner who possesses good speed in the open field. He is a touchdown machine in the red zone that doesn’t go down on first contact and requires a swarm of defenders to get him to the ground. Titshaw helped lead North Oconee to a 12-1 record and is a big-time talent still on the board in Georgia.
