With the 2024-2025 GHSA Baseball season off and running, teams across the state are gearing up in preparation for a long season ahead.
Year in and year out, the state of Georgia produces some of the best high school baseball players in the country, whether they go on to play in college or in the pros at the next level.
Whether it is former Houston County outfielder, Drew Burress who has continued to shine at Georgia Tech this season, or former Georgia Bulldog and current Colorado Rockies, Charlie Condon who excelled at The Walker School before taking his game further.
The talent in the state is endless and with the 2025 season beginning, here are some of the best players to watch for in the state:
IF Joshua Sellers, Alexander
Sellers is a part of an Alexander team that is searching for an early season spark as the Cougars have dropped to 0-4 this season. Sellers, along with first baseman and Point University-commit Caleb Blanks, are two seniors on the team that will provide the Cougars with some veteran leadership to go along with trust from the team to go out and make the big plays when needed. Sellers is a trustworthy infielder who has yet to commit to a college baseball program to continue his future.
SS Terrance Bowen, Blessed Trinity
Standing at six feet tall and almost 200-pounds, Bowen is one of the top players in the Class of 2025 and will be making his debut for the Titans this season after his departure from Alexander High School. Bowen is a reliable shortstop in the field and a force at the plate, displaying great power when he makes contact with the ball. Bowen will be added to an experienced infield at Blessed Trinity along with seniors Aiden and Carson Zagryn. Bowen has shown potential to make it to the big leagues, but will continue his baseball career next season at Oklahoma State.
OF Cannon Goldin, Buford
Goldin is a major piece to the Wolves baseball program and has been in his four years with the program. The centerfielder shows an impressive speed from his position in centerfield and has proved to be a viable option at the plate as well. Goldin and the Wolves will be looking to avenge their quarterfinal loss to Brookwood from a season ago. While having all the tools to play professional baseball, Goldin has signed on to continue his baseball career at Ole Miss where he will compete in one of the top conferences in the sport in the SEC.
SS John Stuetzer, Pope
The starting shortstop for the Class 5A runner-ups, Stuetzer plays a huge role for the Greyhounds baseball program from his position in the field and at the plate. Defensively, Stuetzer continues to show why he is one of the top prospects in the state with his versatility, playing in both the infield at shortstop and in the outfield in center. Stuetzer also shows great speed for a high schooler, running a 60-yard dash in 6.50 seconds. Stuetzer is a part of an experienced outfield with both Tanner Morneau and Matt Strydom back with the Greyhounds in 2025. Stuetzer and Pope will look to win their fourth state championship in the last eight years after last seasons state championship loss to Etowah. Stuetzer signed on to continue his baseball career at Florida State University.
