As The New Year Turns, January Is A Hot Month For Recruiting; Players That Are Receiving The Most Attention

It’s been a busy start to the year for recruiting in Georgia and a bevy of offers has been sent out. As coaches start to visit high school programs in hopes of landing coveted prospects, let’s take a look at some of the hottest names in the state currently who have received offers so far this year.

Kell 2026 ATH Brayden Rouse – Rouse is a name that has absolutely blown up over the course of the season and even more so now that the offseason cycle has started. He finished his junior year with 105 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, five pass breakups, and 3.5 sacks. On offense, he had 25 catches for 378 yards and eight touchdowns. Those numbers and his great film have landed him more notable offers in the month of January alone. He’s picked up offers from Florida State, Arizona State, Florida Atlantic, Alabama, and Auburn. The offers are likely not done yet either as more college coaches get enamored with what he can do on the gridiron. Rouse is a four-star prospect who can affect the game in a multitude of ways and is a game-wrecker on the defensive side of the ball.

Cartersville 2026 WR Brady Marchese – Another blazing name in recruiting that has caught the eyes of coaches. Since his junior season ended, Marchese has picked up offers from Auburn, Memphis, Georgia Tech, Southern Miss, Old Dominion and Utah. He led the Hurricanes in receiving yards (1,051), receiving yards per game (80.8), and touchdowns (11). Marchese is a fast receiver capable of scoring a touchdown anytime he touches it. He is certainly a Power 4 receiver, especially after his great showing against Cedartown in a pivotal region game in 2024 where he had five catches for 132 yards and a touchdown in the 19-14 victory.

Cambridge 2026 WR Craig Dandridge – Dandridge has landed offers from Arkansas, Delaware, and Georgia Tech this week alone. He had a memorable performance in the recent Georgia Elite Classic where he went off for three touchdowns and was giving the defense fits. Dandridge was a go-to player for Cambridge in the Tyler Jones-coached offense and finished his junior year with 58 catches, 1,443 yards and 14 touchdowns. Dandridge has finally started to get the attention he deserves after being underrated for quite some time.

Walton 2027 ATH Alexander Ward – The sophomore is currently committed to Alabama but that hasn’t stopped other SEC schools from offering the standout player. Ward has picked up offers from Tennessee and LSU;. He also picked up an offer from UNLV. Ward finished with nine catches for 152 yards and two touchdowns on offense in the past season. Defensively, he finished with 18 tackles, two tackles for a loss, two interceptions, and a pass deflection. Don’t be fooled by the numbers. Ward battled an injury this season and is someone who will have a big impact in 2025. Walton’s do-it-all player hopes to play on both sides at the next level and will certainly be a name to continue to watch over the next few years.

Brookwood 2027 CB Julian Elzey – Elzey is a name to watch throughout the peach state especially as he prepares for his junior season. He only picked up one offer in the month of January but it is a significant one. Elzey picked up an Auburn offer that now goes with UCF, Georgia Tech, and UAB. Elzey finished his sophomore campaign with 71 tackles, four passes defensed, and a forced fumble. It is still the early parts of January but expect for Elzey to have more offers coming in for his services.

Duluth 2026 CB Peyton Dyer – The three-star defensive back from Duluth has seen more schools calling in early January. He has picked up offers from Michigan, Kennesaw State, Texas A&M, Florida. The recruiting is likely just starting for Dyer although he is committed to South Carolina currently. He finished his junior season with 70 tackles, two forced fumbles, and an interception. He is seen as one of the best defensive backs in the state of Georgia and will only draw more attention.
