Anthony, Favors have big games in Eagle victories

The football team improved to 4-2 overall and 3-1 in Region 5-AAA play last Friday with a 28-13 win over Druid Hills. Nathaniel Anthony had a big day running the ball in the win, scoring a touchdown. Quarterback Willie Favors also contributed a rushing touchdown and a passing score. Both Anthony and Favors had big days in the team’s 40-12 win over Towers the previous week as well: Anthony rushed for three touchdowns and Favors added two. The Eagles next play the undefeated and Region 5A-AAA-leading Dunwoody Wildcats on Friday. “They big. They’ve got the skill guys,” said Columbia head coach Kevin Latham. “It’s going to be a real battle for us.” … The softball team made its region tournament after getting by Clarkston 20-18 in the resumption of a game that was suspended earlier in the season. The Eagles were eliminated from the tournament thanks to a 15-0 loss to St. Pius, but will look forward to next year, as the team was comprised of mostly juniors and one sophomore this year. Also, Crystal Wilcox emerged as a potentially good pitcher.
