Although it is still winter, spring is right around the corner which means lacrosse is upon us. Teams around the state began practice on Jan. 27 for the first matches Feb. 10.
There is a plethora of talent in Georgia in lacrosse that is ready to leave their legacy on the field in a brand new upcoming 2025 season. This is a good time to take a look at all the talent around the state and see which programs are filled with college talent.
Milton headlines the top end girl talent with 13 players committed to playing lacrosse at the next level. Of the 13, 12 are committed to playing D1 lacrosse at the next level. The Lady Eagles have a nice mix of upper class talent and underclassmen talent. Seven of the 13 are seniors and six of the underclassmen are juniors making for another exciting year to watch for Milton under legendary coach Tim Godby.
Pope has five expected to play at the next level with four committed to Division 1 programs including Blythe Noyes, Rylie Muller, Brianna Skiber, Ashley Anne Braun, and Lauren Ebersole. Pope went 10-10 last season making a nice run to the playoffs before losing to state-runner up Blessed Trinity. With talent returning, expect Pope to take a step forward in 2025.
Blessed Trinity is another program that is laden with talent with a number of its high-end recruits coming from the 2026 class. Of the six players committed to playing at the next level, four are juniors. Those players include Maggie Sullivan, Adalyn Kramer, Hannah Daley, and Caroline Gloria. After losing to Cambridge last season in the state championship, you know this team is ready to avenge their loss and get back to the mountaintop. The Lady Titans won a championship in 2023.
The Cambridge girls program has four players in Jenna Lundstedt, Gabriella Johnson, Logan Collen, and Kasey Dwyer that are going to go on and play D1 lacrosse. Three of the four are underclassmen who grew up before our eyes in last year’s epic playoff run for Cambridge. The Lady Bears won its first state title in program history last season and retained a good crop of talent coming back.
Creekview may be a surprising team but they are loaded with talent and one to watch this season. They also have four players committed to playing at the next level including Hayley Rakestraw, Brooklyn Brown, Tanner Coker, and Rilynn Price. The Lady Grizzlies went 18-3 last year before falling to Blessed Trinity in the semifinals.
There are a lot of talented programs around the state of Georgia, but those programs mentioned are brewing with some of the best talent the state has to offer.
