Football team cruises after 28-point first half

A first-half barrage of points for the football team gave the Titans an early lead, while the defense was able to force and recover two fumbles, leading the Titans to a breezy 42-14 victory over Riverwood.

The Titans were not particularly concerned about how the points came, as the team scored two rushing and two passing touchdowns before Riverwood got on the board. Kohl Hegetschweiler had first-half touchdown passes of seven and 75 yards to Glenn Maust and Jake Skole, respectively. Bruce Johnson and Sam Burkhalter each added their own rushing touchdowns to make the game 28-0 before halftime. … The softball team took down Pace Academy on Wednesday in its final game before a trip to Woodstock. Moira Sullivan went 4-for-4 with three singles and a triple to lead the team to a 3-0 victory. This week the team hosts Washington-Wilkes. … The volleyball team went a perfect 5-for-5 over the weekend, defeating three ranked teams in No. 10 Savannah Country Day, No. 1 Lovett and No. 5 Walker. In all, Meghan Morillo had 45 kills while Nicole McAlvany set the team towards victory with 116 assists.
