The football team advanced its overall record to 2-0 last Friday with a 30-14 win against Wheeler. The Raiders had some long drives to take a 21-7 halftime lead, and then came out in the second half and got a safety on the Wildcats’ first drive. Head coach Bill Waters had this to say on the win: “We did some really good things and some unsound things, but we were able to come out with a win.” The Raiders play host to Centennial (1-1 and 0-1 in region play) in their first region matchup this Friday at 7:30 p.m. … The softball team won its first region game last Thursday against Campbell 11-2. The Raiders are now 1-1-0 in Region 6B-AAAAA and 4-6-0 in overall play. The team will host Centennial on Wednesday and Walton on Thursday before traveling to Kell on Tuesday (all games start at 5:55 p.m.). … The volleyball team will play at South Forsyth at 5 p.m. and against Riverwood at 6 p.m. on Thursday, and will then take on Centennial and Northview on Tuesday at Northview (6 and 7 p.m.).
