Dutchtown Hires Former Henry County Star Kevon Glenn As New Head Football Coach

Dutchtown hired one of the youngest coaches in Georgia history with the hire of Kevon Glenn, a former Henry County football star.

Glenn starred as a linebacker at Dutchtown High School including being named AJC all-state linebacker, all-region, and all-county during his tenure with the Bulldogs. He was also named Georgia Athletic Coaches Association defensive Player of the Year in 2018 when the Bulldogs went 12-1 and reached the quarterfinals. He finished that season with 95 tackles. Coming out of high school he was rated as a consensus three-star prospect. Glenn held over 40+ offers in high school before eventually signing with Florida State.

He went on to play at Florida State for two seasons before transferring to Georgia Southern. He had one of his best seasons in college in 2021-2022 playing in all 12 games registering 26 tackles, 1.5 tackles for loss, a sack, and a forced fumble. He also tallied a career-high nine tackles and a forced fumble against Florida Atlantic. He would play two seasons at Georgia Southern before finishing his final season with the UConn Huskies. In 2024, Glenn spent time with his alma mater Georgia Southern as a player personnel analyst before accepting the new role with the Bulldogs.

Glenn will replace Niketa Battle who was let go by the Bulldogs and recently named the new head coach at Banneker High School this offseason. It certainly won’t be an easy task for Glenn coming into the Dutchtown program. The Bulldogs went 7-5 in 2024 but lost a good chunk of their core pieces that contributed to their success including DL Ayden Cain (Gainesville) and QB Mike Johnson (Douglas County). Despite the changes at head coach for Dutchtown (three in the past five years) they haven’t missed the playoffs since 2016 and have been a perennial playoff team.
