Bulldogs pitch shutout in season opener

The football team opened up the Price Jones Era on a positive note Friday night. With Jones’s newly implemented Wing-T offense and aggressive defensive style, the Bulldogs easily defeated Druid Hills in a 27-0 victory. Jones’s eight-man front set the tone, and the offense flourished thanks to the ground game. A much tougher game awaits Decatur next week, as they hit the road in a game at Henry Co. on Friday at 7:30 p.m. The Warhawks feature one of the most dynamic offenses in the state. … The volleyball team was competitive in two matches against teams in higher classes, but couldn’t notch a victory in two 2-1 losses to Hillgrove and Parkview. The Bulldogs dominated the first set against the Panthers, winning 25-10, but lost the next two sets by scores of 25-19 and 25-23. … Softball is 6-0 after beating Dunwoody 3-1 on Thursday. The team will face a good Westminster squad on the road on Thursday. … The cross country teams run in the Clara Bowl at Berry College on Saturday morning. They face off against Wesleyan on Tuesday beginning at 4:30 p.m.
