Dawgs rout Astros, 43-14

Mike Collins’s first game as head coach of the Chamblee football team was a successful one, as the Bulldogs prevailed over the Douglass Astros 43-14. “I feel like we played hard in all three phases of the game.” Collins said. “We made some big plays early and that was the difference in the game.” The Bulldogs will play at North Springs in a special Thursday game that will kick off at 7:30 p.m. … The volleyball team will host its first matches of the season this week when Peachtree Ridge and Dunwoody pay the Bulldogs a visit on Thursday. Then on Tuesday, Chamblee will play host to Lithonia, North Springs and Miller Grove. On both days, the action will get started at 5 p.m. … The softball team hits the road this week to face Southwest DeKalb on Thursday and Miller Grove on Tuesday. … The football team’s touchdown club will host the Blue and Gold Under the Moonlight Auction and Dinner Dance on Oct. 3.
