BULLDOG BEAT: King receives two-game suspension

Georgia running back Caleb King was suspended on Tuesday by head coach Mark Richt after recently being arrested on an outstanding warrant. King was arrested for failing to appear in court to answer for a speeding ticket he had been issued in Walton County in August.

“I expect all our players to take care of their responsibilities on and off the field,” said Richt. “When players don’t do that it damages the reputation of the player, our team, and our university. My goal is for Caleb to learn a lesson and for other players to learn from his experience.”

King’s arrest was the 11th for the team this season. He was issued a citation for driving 76 MPH in a 55 MPH zone.

The former Parkview and GAC star is the second Bulldog arrested since President Michael Adams issues a “zero-tolerance” policy last month. The previous player arrested was Demetre Baker, a freshman linebacker, who was eventually kicked off the team.
