The Kell boys soccer team is full of talent heading into the 2025 season and with only a handful of boys’ prospects in the state committed to Division I universities, the Longhorns boast two of the best: Mercer-commit Ethan Manzella and Georgia State-commit Brandon Graham.
The Longhorns are coming off a strong 2024 campaign that saw them go 12-4-1 through a tough region. Despite their success, they fell to a third seed and lost in the first round to quarterfinalist Dalton, 2-1. They should, however, be on the short list of title contenders in 4A after reclassification this season. But, Class 4A defending-champion Westminster will be tough to beat.
The state is full of talented girls, with more than 35 players committed to Division I universities. One of the most notable teams is Pope, which features three D1 commits Addie Daughtry, Addison DeJoseph, and Alexa DeJoseph. Daughtry is committed to Georgia Southern, while both of the DeJoseph sisters are committed to TCU. Pope is entering the season aiming for its first title since 2002. In 2024, they fell just short, losing to eventual champion Marist in penalty kicks during the quarterfinals.
