Patriots rebound in return to in-state foes

The football team bounced back from a loss to Aiken (S.C.) on Aug. 22 to win against Upson-Lee 17-7 last Friday. Running back Anthony Thompson led the offense with 112 yards on the ground while quarterback Michael Rosser contributed 90 yards to the rushing total. The Pats begin a stretch of eight straight region games, getting Parkview next Friday at home at 7:30 p.m. … After trailing 6-0 to Columbia in the first inning, the softball team erased the deficit by scoring 19 runs in four innings to win 19-7. Samantha Myers and Brittani Bumb each scored four runs in the victory. The team faces Campbell on Wednesday at 4:30 p.m. … The cross country teams will participate in the Berry Invitational (The Clara Bowl) on Saturday. This will be the second meet of the season for Berkmar and will serve as a tune-up for the Altitude Running Invitational held at Mercer University later in the month. … The volleyball team looks to pick up its first win on Thursday, facing both Tucker and Shiloh. The Lady Patriots then play in the Cobb-Gwinnett Challenge on Saturday.
