The ‘Battle in the Peach’ is back with huge matchups featuring some of the top basketball programs in the state taking on some of the best teams in the nation.
The high-profile high school basketball classic features some of the top boys high school basketball teams in Georgia, with top-notch talent scattered all throughout the matchups. The event will be held on Friday and Saturday at Duluth High School where some of the best high school basketball talent from Georgia and from out of state will compete in the ‘Battle in the Peach.’
The ‘Battle of the Peach’ features reigning Class 6A state champion Riverwood as they continue their title defense this season. A year ago, the Raiders took home the state championship after a 67-63 overtime victory over then-defending champion Alexander to win the schools first-ever basketball state championship.
The headliner for this seasons ‘Battle in the Peach’ will be played on Saturday night in the main gym at 7:00 p.m. as Holy Innocents’ and Tri Cities will face off in a marquee matchup of highly-touted recruits. Tri-Cities 4-star power forward, junior Jalan Wingfield will lead his Tri-Cities team against Holy Innocents’ 5-star power forward Caleb Wilson, who is ranked on most recruiting sites as a top-10 player in the country in the Class of 2025.
The highly-competitive high school basketball tournaments are starting to ramp up as more and more will take place with the season finally beginning. This weekend alone, Hawks-Naismith Tournament and the North Georgia Showcase will be taking place followed by the Corky Kell + Dave Hunter Classic Second Annual Basketball Tournament next weekend at Norcross indicates that high school basketball season is in full swing.
