Brookwood to replace Philip Jones after 10-year stint

Score Atlanta has learned the Brookwood Broncos will have a new head football coach for the first time since 2015 when 1997 Brookwood grad Philip Jones took over the program. Jones will be replaced after leading the program to a 70-44 record over his 10 seasons at the school. The Broncos missed the playoffs for the first time since 2015 last year before rebounding with a 7-4 finish this season and closing out the regular season on a six-game win-streak and clinching a home playoff game in the first round. Brookwood—which has existed since 1982 has had just four total head coaches over its 42-year history. This includes Bruce Stephens (1982-86), Dave Hunter (1987-01), Mark Crews (2002-14) and coach Jones (2015-24). Jones spent two seasons as an assistant under coach Crews before taking over and was also a head coach at Banks County and an assistant for both Walton and Ware County.
