The 2024 Georgia Elite Classic is right around the corner and will be held at McEachern High School from December 26-28. The Georgia Elite Classic will feature some of the best high school football talent in the state where they will be competing in all-star games separated by grade level.
The Georgia Elite Classic will feature practices for all competing teams on the 26th leading into the underclassman and senior flag football games on Friday, December 27. The final day of this year’s Georgia Elite Classic will feature five games including the seventh and eighth grade All-Star Games, the Freshman vs Sophomore All-Star Game, Junior All-Star Game and the Senior All-Star Game.
Recently the coaches of each of these teams were finalized with some of the best coaching minds around the state leading this year’s teams.
“I would say for me, it’s another opportunity to coach the game and do what I enjoy, but also get to do it with some of my old teammates who are also coaches, so that makes it a blast for us. For the players, it can be monumental if they attack it the correct way and perform well,” says East Paulding coach Trevor Thomas, a coach for the seventh grade All-Star Game as well as a Georgia Elite Classic alumni.
The Georgia Elite Classic has been a staple in high school football around the state for over the last decade since it was established in December of 2013 and has been known to create exposure for all participating players.
“Overall, it’s huge for exposure and a lot of fun too, being that you are competing with some of the best,” Thomas added.
The three-day event has continued to expand over the years, going from a single day event to now a three-day event with eight games all taking place at McEachern High School.
The coaches are:
7th Grade: Adam Clack (Former Milton Head Coach), Kyle Whitaker (Walton 7th Grade Coach)
8th Grade: Trevor Thomas (East Paulding WR Coach), Gordon Dudley (Blessed Trinity WR Coach)
9th Grade: Dan Mullins (Allatoona Defensive Coordinator)
10th Grade: Israel Troupe (Thomasville Offensive Coordinator)
11th Grade: Andrico Hines (Berkmar Head Coach), Greg Carswell (Grayson Defensive Coordinator)
12th Grade: Tyler Queen (North Cobb QB Coach), Major Carlberg (North Gwinnett LB Coach)
The Georgia Elite Classic will be broadcast live on the Peachtree Sports Network, Atlanta News First App, and the National Federation High School Network (NFHS).
