BULLDOG BEAT: Dawgs drop heartbreaker in Boulder

Now it’s gone from bad to worse.

The Georgia Bulldogs dropped their fourth consecutive game Saturday night in a 29-27 loss to Colorado. The Dogs were in field goal position for a potential game-winning field goal when running back Caleb King fumbled the ball and the Buffaloes recovered.

The dismal ending spoiled what had been an impressive comeback, as the formerly inept Bulldog offense came back from 14-3 down to take a 24-14 lead in the second half. The comeback was led by wide receiver AJ Green, who had seven catches for 119 yards and two touchdowns in limited action. The junior All-American left the game early with cramps.

King also had a productive night, but his performance was marred by his untimely fumble. The Parkview/GAC product rushed for 100 yards.

Marlon Brown caught the first touchdown of his career last night, an eight-yard catch in the third quarter. Quarterback Aaron Murray had another solid night, throwing for 221 yards on 16-for-27 passing. Murray had three touchdown passes.

Next week, the Bulldogs (1-4, 0-3) return home to face struggling Tennessee (2-3, 0-2). The Vols have won three of four in the series, including last year’s 45-19 pasting in Knoxville.
