Class 6A Football
Norcross 49, Meadowcreek 0
The Blue Devils led 21-0 after the first quarter and 42-0 at the half in a romp of Meadowcreek to move to 6-1 on the season and 4-0 in Region 7-6A play. Kobe Robinson scored two 25-yard touchdown runs in the victory. Dillon Mohammed had an 18-yard touchdown run and passed 18 yards to Alex Garnett for a touchdown. Yahn Silverio completed a 30-yard pass to Jahsaun Clarke to expand the lead to 41-0 for Norcross. Kendell Edwards added an 18-yard rushing touchdown for Norcross.
Peachtree Ridge 46, Duluth 28
In a key Region 7-6A matchup, Peachtree Ridge outscored Duluth 34-7 through the second and third quarters to take control of the game after trailing 7-6 entering the second quarter. Sojourn Parker opened scoring on a 3-yard run, but the ensuing 2-point conversion left Peachtree Ridge with a 6-0 lead. Duluth responded on a 3-yard run with one minute left in the first quarter and the point-after try from Bless Benton gave the Wildcats a 7-6 lead. Rhari Thomas’ 3-yard touchdown run gave Peachtree Ridge a 12-7 lead with 11 minutes left in the first half. Duluth’s passing touchdown with 2 minutes left in the first half put the Wildcats up 14-12 but a 40-yard pass from Chase Walker to Tyeion Cofield on the ensuing drive gave Peachtree Ridge an 18-14 lead it would not relinquish. The Lions expanded the margin on a 3-yard fumble return at the end of the first half to lead 26-14 at the half. Parker passed to Marion Luckett to lead 32-14 with six minutes left in the third quarter. Darnell Kelly connected with Mikael James on a short pass to put Peachtree Ridge up 40-14 late in the third quarter. Kelly’s 60-yard pass to Bryce Green capped scoring for the Lions.
