Are you ready? The Georgia High School Football Media Day is back and better than ever! After a successful inaugural event in 2023 that saw 85 teams participate, 2024 will feature even more including an extra day, a new location, and flag football teams from across the state. With the proliferation of flag football not only in the state of Georgia but also across the country, it will be a great way to promote and highlight the growing sport.
Media Day will begin on July 24 in Atlanta at the Mechanical Trades Institute building, a state-of-the-art facility where players will be highlighted, promoted, and celebrated. In addition, there will be multiple trade unions in attendance with displays focused on welding, plumbing, and heating and air for players to learn through a hands-on experience about several career opportunities after they graduate high school.
The second Media Day event will take place at Westside High School in Macon on July 25. This event will focus on prestigious programs in middle and south Georgia, and will include two state champions from 2023, Coffee and Pierce County.
The event will air on the Atlanta News First app and the National Federation High School Network. The live programming will feature On3′s Rusty Mansell, Drive for the GHSA State Title gameday host Kaylee Mansell, and Score Atlanta’s Craig Sager and Najeh Wilkins.
The event will feature prominent outlets like 92.9 The Game, 247Sports, On3, and local media including newspapers and radio stations onsite interviewing players and coaches throughout the day.
Coaches who sign up for a time slot are encouraged to bring their entire senior class, along with any underclassmen who are deserving to be in attendance. Offensive and defensive coordinators are also encouraged to attend.
Both events will run from 10 a.m. to 6:15 p.m., and for more information on the event or to reserve a time slot for your team, contact Grace Rothberg (404-683-6511 / GRothberg@ScoreATL.com).
