Peachtree Ridge 4-star cornerback Dorian Barney announced his commitment to the Alabama Crimson Tide on Sunday as he becomes the second commitment to Alabama’s 2026 class.
Barney joins 3-star safety Jamarrion Gordon as the only two commitments in Alabama’s class of 2026, both being defensive backs as Barney is a cornerback and Gordon a safety.
According to 247Sports, Barney is rated as the No. 55 prospect and the sixth-best corner in the class. He is also rated as the seventh-best player in the state of Georgia according to 247Sports rankings.

Barney is a Suwanee-native and is coming off of a stellar sophomore year at Peachtree Ridge after spending his freshman season at Eagle’s Landing Christian Academy. In his lone season as a Charger, Barney totaled 32 tackles, eight interceptions and six pass break ups.
Barney is listed at 6-foot-1, 170-pounds and shows great ball skills and the ability to make plays all over the field.
The Peachtree Ridge cornerback is a huge pickup for the Alabama football program in its 2026 recruiting class. New Alabama defensive backs coach and co-defensive coordinator Maurice Linguist continues to show the rest of the country that Alabama remains with the best of the best in recruiting and developing defensive backs even in the post-Saban era. The Crimson Tide were able to land two recruits over the weekend and will have the opportunity to develop underclassmen this season as Alabama brings in three 5-star freshmen into its defensive backs room (Jaylen Mbakwe, Zay Mincey, and Zabien Brown).
Barney will look to make a name for himself early on and recruit more players to join him and Gordon in the Class of 2026.
