Cougars fall short in battle of powerhouse offenses

The sound heard from the Cougars’ campus Friday night came from a sigh of exhaustion from the fans, as everyone in attendance was treated to a spectacular offensive showing that included 100 points and just under 1,000 total yards. Unfortunately for the home fans, the Cougars were on the short end, falling 51-49 to Milton. The offense was able to move effectively, as Brendan Cross and Justin Williams combined for over 170 yards rushing, with Cross throwing for an additional 278 yards with only seven incompletions. Three of those seven misses, however, landed in the hands of Milton defenders. The interceptions gave Milton a short field, which they took advantage of behind the legs of Toney Williams. On Friday, the Cougars will travel to Parkview at 7:30 p.m. … Inconsistency has marked the volleyball team, as they have yet to have the same result twice in a row. It was a tough loss against Northview losing in straight sets, but they followed that up with an impressive win over Central Gwinnett, allowing only 25 points combined in the two sets.
