Dominic Eason made history last night in an emphatic 81-45 win against Appling County on the road. Eason became the Toombs County all-time scoring leader, a record he broke in the first quarter. He passed Chuck Hill’s previous mark of 1,250 points and is at 1,267 points in counting with four regular season games left.
So far this season, Eason is averaging 19.5 points, six rebounds, a steal, and a block. He has 12 games this season where he has eclipsed 20 points. His highest-scoring effort came twice this season against Bacon County and Wayne County. Against Wayne County, he dropped 27 points on an efficient 68% from the field in a 20-point victory.

Eason also has three games with at least 10 rebounds and 10 points this season accomplishing the feat against Dublin twice and Windsor Forest. Perhaps the most impressive stat this season for him is his efficiency from the field. His adjusted field goal percentage is 58% from the field in 2023 and has five games this season where he has shot better than 65% from the field.
Eason is a player who can score at will, and when he gets in a groove he is hard to stop. He also has increased his scoring output each year he has played varsity, going from 10 points per game as a sophomore to 17.2 points per game as a junior, and now 19.5 points per game as a senior.
He is also a defensive force. This year he is leading Toombs County averaging a block a game and is third on the team in steals per game. His most impressive defensive game came in December against Dublin where he wreaked havoc against opposing ball handlers. In the victory, Eason had three steals and three blocks.
Eason has led Toombs County to a 19-2 overall record and an 8-0 region record. They are the No. 9-ranked team in the Score Atlanta poll. The Bulldogs have a top-10 win against No. 9 Dougherty this year. With the region tourney around the corner, Toombs County looks to finish strong and have their senior leadership to lean on, including Eason and three other seniors.
