The top classification of the girls soccer rankings shows defending champion Lambert out of the Top 10 after losing players to graduation and seven players — including four Division 1 commitments — to the Developmental Academy of U.S. Soccer.
According to Lambert coach Scott Luthart, Lambert, South Forsyth and West Forsyth, who’d been perennial tournament contenders over the past five seasons, were substantially affected and are in a “rebuilding mode.” Peachtree Ridge debuts at the top of the state’s highest classification.
Defending champions Harrison (6A), McIntosh (5A), St. Pius (4A), Westminster, St. Vincent’s (2A) and Wesleyan (1A) debut at the top of their respective classes.
