FRIDAY NIGHT FOOTBALL: Games to keep an eye one

Tonight’s Score Atlanta/GPB Game of the week will feature two undefeated teams as McEachern will travel to Cherokee County to take on Woodstock. Here are five other games to sink your teeth into:

Carver (Columbus) at Northside-Warner Robins

Both of these teams played against each other last year and it was Northside that got the upper hand, as the Eagles won 7-6. Carver is coming to Northside with a lot of talent as QB Devin Burns, OL David Beasley and DE Corey Crawford are dynamic players. Northside has won the last 35 home games against true visiting teams.

Hoover (AL) at Camden County

This will be the second consecutive game that Camden County plays an opponent from out of state, but the Wildcats played against Hoover last year and won 44-16. Camden won a wild game last week, defeating First Coast (Fl) 30-24 when Joel Ruiz threw a 41-yard touchdown pass to Steven Murphy on the final play of the game. Hoover is ranked No. 40 in the RivalsHigh National Poll.

Buford at Lovett

The last three times that Lovett has played Buford, the Lions have not scored a single point. However, after a 56-28 drubbing of Callaway last week, the Lions are looking to build on the momentum that they have now. If Buford wins, it will be their 50th consecutive regular season win.

Burke County at Statesboro

These are two teams that have two different styles of offense. Burke County runs a no-huddle spread offense while Statesboro runs the wishbone. Burke County is ranked No. 10 in Class 3A and Statesboro is ranked No. 5 in 4A.

Calhoun at Cartersville

Calhoun is one of the top ranked teams in 2A, but they don’t have a great track record against Cartersville as they have an overall record of 3-19-1. But the Yellow Jackets have one of the best quarterback-wide receiver duos in Nash Nance and Da’Rick Rogers and look to beat Cartersville for the third time in four attempts.
