Norcross 24, Milton 10

How the game was won: The Norcross Blue Devils led the Milton Eagles 21-0 at the end of the first half. Norcross quarterback Baron Radcliffe tossed both of his touchdown passes in the second quarter. Norcross’s first touchdown in the first quarter was the result of a 21 yard run by Omar Sinclair, and their last score was a 42-yard field goal by Jake Camarda in the third quarter.

Top performers: Baron Radcliffe threw a 28-yard touchdown pass to Robert Sims and a 27-yard touchdown pass to Omar Sinclair. Sinclair also ran in a 21-yard touchdown.

Greater Atlanta Christian 35, Pace Academy 17

How the game was won: The Pace Academy Knights traveled to Norcross to take on the Greater Atlanta Christian School and the Spartan offense was firing on all cylinders. Stanford Commit, Davis Mills plowed his way into the end zone to give GAC a 14-0 lead. Pace responded with the next two scores (a field goal and touchdown) to cut the deficit to four until Mills threaded a pass to his number one target, Harrison Sloan to give the Spartans a 21-10 lead. The Knights answered with a touchdown, but Mills would find Sloan again to expand the lead to 28-17 with 4:18 left in the game to eliminate the defending state champs.

Top performers: Davis Mills and Harrison Sloan powered the Greater Atlanta Christian offense with two second half touchdown receptions.

Dacula 28, Sequoyah 0

How the game was won: Sequoyah’s hot-and-cold offense struggled with Dacula’s defense which set the tone early with a handful of first half sacks. A 21-0 halftime lead was more than enough for the Falcons to hold off the Chiefs.

Top Performers: Tre McMillan rushed for a 15-yard touchdown to give the Falcons an early lead. Ty Harris scored two touchdowns, his longest coming via a 73-yarder in the third quarter. Shayne Buckingham threw a 21-yard touchdown pass to Michael Burrell.

Parkview 30, South Forsyth 27

How the game was won: Malik Washington was too elusive for South Forsyth to slow down but the War Eagles still took a 27-22 lead into the fourth quarter. With 4:54 remaining in regulation, Caleb Mitchell found Jaylen Askew wide open for a 33-yard touchdown to give Parkview the lead for good.

Top Performers: Malik Washington rushed for touchdowns of one, 68 and 53 yards. South Forsyth’s offense came via Julian Mingo who scored on a 6-yard run and a 3-yard run in the third quarter. Drew Morris tossed a 20-yard strike to Jake Nicholas on a screen and Jared Honey punched in a 1-yarder to give South Forsyth an early 14-0 lead in the second quarter.

Mill Creek 41, Newton 0

How the game was won: Mill Creek lived on Newton’s side of the field all night and capitalized each and every time. The Hawks hung 41 points while totaling just 208 yards of offense and holding the Rams to 59.

Top Performers: Cameron Turley finished 9-for-19 with 136 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. Turley hit Ace Williams and Preston Norwood on 13-yard touchdown passes.  Turley connected with Norwood from 25 yards out in the third quarter. Trey Turner caught a 32-yard touchdown pass in the second quarter. Victor Hayward added a 40-yard interception return for a touchdown. Brenton King booted field goals of 35 and 39 yards. Matt Winston chipped in a 65-yard interception before being brought down.

Peachtree Ridge 28, Archer 23

How the game was won: In a rematch of a Week 2 contest in the regular season, Peachtree Ridge avenged a 20-19 defeat by scraping past visiting Archer. The Lions trailed 17-14 going into the fourth quarter but scored two unanswered touchdowns to seize a 28-17 advantage. Although the Tigers cut their deficit to 28-23 with more than four minutes remaining, they could get no closer.

Top performers: Peachtree Ridge quarterback Fred Payton amassed 458 yards of total offense and accounted for three touchdowns. Payton tossed scoring strikes to Zane Ashley and Harris Lackey before tacking on a 15-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Ashley got the scoring started for the Lions with a 21-yard scamper in the opening quarter. Keegan Strickland threw a pair of TD passes for Archer, a 63-yarder to Carter Peevy and a 34-yarder to Ronald Schjang. Strickland ran for a score, as well, and the Tigers also got a 32-yard field goal from Michael Johnson.
