Westminster 43, Stone Mountain 12

How the game was won: Westminster completed an undefeated run through Region 5-AAA by overwhelming host Stone Mountain from start to finish. The Wildcats led 29-0 after one quarter and by the 43-12 margin before even reaching halftime. They scored the first 36 points of the game before the Pirates ran off a brief string of 12 unanswered points.

Top performers: Filling in for a resting Zay Malcolme with the Wildcats having already clinched the region title, Ben Walker scored each of his team’s last three touchdowns. Prior to Walker’s trio of rushing scores, Westminster showcased an arial attack led by quarterback Ward Croft. He tossed scoring strikes to Ian Ude, Nance Hill, and Joe Egan, all of which came from more than 20 yards away. Ude scored on a 28-yard scoring pass and Hill hauled in a 70-yarder off a deflection.

Blessed Trinity 34, West Hall 13

How the game was won: Blessed Trinity clinched another region championship by leading from wire to wire in a dominant win over visiting West Hall. The Titans scored the game’s first 17 points and led 10-0 after one quarter, 24-7 at halftime, and 31-7 going into the fourth. They scored three times on the ground, once through the air, and got two field goals from Brooks Hosea.

Top performers: Hosea converted successful field goals from 31 yards and 26 yards away while also connecting on all four of his extra-point attempts. Steele Chambers kicked off the scoring with a 35-yard touchdown scamper and he added another TD run in the third quarter to lead the Titans. Quarterback Jake Smith had a touchdown run and threw a 35-yard scoring strike to J.D. Bertrand. West Hall’s touchdowns came on passes from Jacob Satterfield to Justin Hearn.

Pace Academy 27, Towers 6

How the game was won: Pace got three rushing touchdowns and two field goals before the officials ended the game as a Pace win late in the first half because of fighting between the two teams.

Top performers: Deon Jackson scored twice on the ground for Pace, and Keashawn Perryman scored one rushing touchdown. Patrick Markwalter hit two field goals for the Knights

Fellowship Christian 28, Mt. Zion-Carroll 14

How the game was won: Host Mt. Zion tied it at 14-14 three minutes into the second half, but two fourth-quarter rushing touchdowns gave Fellowship the Region 6-A title and a 10-0 season.

Top performers: Andrew Minkert rushed for the 5-yard go-ahead touchdown with 7:24 to play, and Jack Hardin scored on a 1-yard touchdown run with 5:15 after a Trey Robinson interception. Hardin and Minkert both scored first-quarter touchdowns, Hardin’s a 15-yarder and Minkert’s a 20-yarder.
