How the game was won: In what seemed to be a safe victory became a last minute nail biter for the Northview Titans. After a lead of 21 at the half, Northview scored first in the 3rd to take a 28-0 lead. The Wildcats weren’t giving up just yet. Dunwoody would go onto score 28 straight points and tie the game with six minutes remaining. The Titans punched in the winning touchdown with less than a minute left and Michael Harpes III picked off the Wildcats and set his team up for victory formation.
Top Performers: Farid Nana-Yebeoah pulled off the hat trick tonight with two rushing touchdowns and a reception touchdown. Nana-Yeboah’s second rushing touchdown came off a 51 yard. Parker Poteet threw for two touchdowns, connecting with Nana-Yeboah for 47 yards on his 2nd. AJ Green scored the final touchdown to seal the win.
Marist 24, Gainesville 10
How the game was won: Gainesville’s DJ Irons threw a touchdown pass to Red Davis for the Red Elephants’ only touchdown and lead of the game early in the first quarter. Marist answered with an 11-yard touchdown run by Michael Addicks and Dean Johnson gave the War Eagles a 14-7 lead with a 7-yard touchdown run with 6:05 left in the half. The teams traded 41-yard field goals to make it 17-10 in Marist’s favor entering the final frame and the War Eagles capped off a 17-play drive to ice the game with 7:10 left (24-10).
Top performers: Michael Addicks and Dean Johnson ran in Marist touchdowns and Timmy Bleekrode kicked a 41-yard field goal with 23.5 seconds left in the half.
