The No. 2 ranked AA Greater Atlanta Christian Spartans made their way down to Grady Stadium to take on the KIPP Atlanta Warriors in hopes of keeping their perfect region record intact. The Spartans scored touchdowns on their first five possessions en route to a 51-14 win.
Star quarterback Davis Mills completed 11-of-13 passes for 217 yards and two touchdowns. Mills completed five passes of 20 yards or more with his longest coming on a 34-yard strike to wide receiver Malcolm Cunningham.
Alex Rowe led the Spartans (5-1, 3-0 6-AA) in rushing with 88 yards and scored on runs of 34, 4 and 2 yards respectively. Rowe also caught one pass for 25 yards and a touchdown. As a team, the Spartans rushed for 160 yards on the night.
“He [Mills] is a great quarterback,” Rowe said. “He is very young but leads the team in every way. It’s a lot of fun to play with someone like that.”
GAC head coach Tim Hardy added “It was a good team effort for our teamtonight. Our defense played really well tonight and gave us a lot of short fields. Davis was really efficient tonight and we took advantage of it.”
The GAC defense held the Warriors to 160 yards of total offense and forced two turnovers. Outside linebacker Joshua Pickens sacked Warriors’ quarterback Octavious Arnold twice and helped the defense hold Arnold to just 7-of-24 passing for 75 yards.
GAC hosts region foe PACE Academy (5-1, 2-0 6-AA) next Friday.

How the game was won: Peachtree Ridge, which led 49-0 at the half, had two interceptions for touchdowns, one each by Avante Ross (30 yards) and Zane Ashley (44 yards). Fred Payton threw two touchdown passes to Christian Sutton and one to Connor Heyward.

How the game was won: Kyle Syvarth intercepted Woodstock with less than :20 seconds left in the game and ran it back for a touchdown to seal a 21-14 victory for the Trojans. This came after Lassiter kicked a field goal with :21 seconds remaining to go ahead 15-14.

How the game was won: Brookwood held a 7-0 lead until the third quarter when Shiloh tied it up. A scoreless fourth quarter would lead to overtime, where Jesse Brown gave Brookwood the win on a 15-yard run. The score would remain tied through regulation, forcing overtime. The first play of overtime would give the Broncos a 14-7 lead and the win after Shiloh was failed to score.
Top Performers: Angelo DiSpigna and Dorian Miles connected for a touchdown pass in the first half… Jesse Brown gave Brookwood the win in overtime with his 15-yard touchdown run.

How the game was one: Newnan scored 21 points in each of the first two quarters to build a 42-7 lead at the half.

A punt with 3:37 remaining in the fourth was botched by a Westlake return man and was recovered in the end zone by East Coweta for the only score of the game.

How the game was won: Tift County committed five first half turnovers and trailed Lee County 14-7 at the half. Lee County quarterback Garet Morrell found Tray Eaford on a 93-yard touchdown pass to open the second half before the duo found the end zone for the third time of the game on a 23-yard pass to make it 35-7. Demerious Milton opened the scoring with a 1-yard touchdown run and added Lee County’s final touchdown on a 1-yard plunge with 30 seconds left.

Calhoun 45, Adairsville 13
How the game was won: Calhoun shook off a sluggish start in a battle of undefeateds on the road to beat Adairsville. The Tigers led 13-3 after the first period, but a 28-point outburst in the second quarter completely swung momentum in favor of the defending state champs. The Tigers had a chance to get on the scoreboard when they marched down to the Calhoun 2-yardline with seconds remaining in the second quarter, but Adairsville was unable to punch it in and did not have enough time to run out the field goal unit before time expired and the game went to the half 31-13 in favor of the Yellow Jackets.
Top Performers: Kaelan Riley completed 10-of-18 passes for 213 yards and two touchdowns. How the game was won: Hunter Mitchell scored on a 23-yard run with 3:52 left in the game to give Dawson County a 35-22 lead following a successful two-point conversion.
Top Performers: Tucker Maxwell caught two touchdowns passes for Dawson County. The first was a 51-yard score, and the second was a 15-yarder. …Hunter Mitchell also found the end zone twice for Dawson County.

How the game was won: Westside-Macon rallied to take a brief 29-25 lead, after a 3-yard Savion Knowlton touchdown before Jackson quarterback Shaderious Crowder connected with Ny’j Smith on a 30 yard game-winning touchdown minutes later.
Top Performers: Crowder tossed the game-winning touchdown pass to Smith from 30 yards after finding Smith for a70 yard touchdown pass in the first quarter. How the game was won: Central-Macon had momentum driving against Peach County as the Trojans held the lead 13-7. Central stalled at 4th and 1 on the Peach County 21 yardline when Central bobbled the snap and Peach County recovered. The change in momentum favored the Trojans of Peach County as they held on to squeak past the Chargers.

How the game was won: Franklin County scored four rushing touchdowns to race past the Indians and remain undefeated in Region 7. Lumpkin County had its chance after cutting the lead to six points when Zach Matthews recovered a fumble on the Indians’ 37-yardline with 5:37 remaining in regulation, but at the 3:58 mark Lumpkin County would fumble the ball right back, leading to a Bud Woods touchdown run 51 seconds later to extend the lead to 22-8.
Top Performers: Eshun Hill and Conner Williams both scored on the ground to take a 14-0 lead heading into the fourth quarter. …Zach Matthews of Lumpkin County scored on a 4-yard run and Cal Thrailkill converted on a 2-point conversion to bring the lead to 14-8 with 6:34 left in the fourth. …Bud Woods scored at the 3:07 mark of the fourth and Tyrique David sprinted 81 yards for the dagger with 45 seconds left.

How the game was won: Colby Wood led Jefferson with a huge four-touchdown night, including a 1-yard touchdown run with 12 seconds left in the first half that pushed the Dragons’ lead to 14-0. Wood closed out the third quarter with his third score and answered Elbert County’s Mecole Hardman touchdown in the fourth quarter with his final score.
Top Performers: Colby Wood carried the ball an incredible 45 times and racked up 285 yards to go with his four touchdowns. Wood also hauled in a 21 yard reception and an interception on defense.

Rabun County 44, Social Circle 0
How the game was won: A 21-point first quarter highlighted by big plays left the Redskins in the dust. The Wildcats are now 4-0 all-time against Social Circle with wins prior of 49-23, 64-0 and 49-21.
Top Performers: Eli Gipson scored on a 66-yard run and Charlie Woerner followed with a 68-yarder of his own to help the Wildcats jump out 14-0. …Bailey Fisher hit Cal Drummond on a 27-yard touchdown pass to close out the first quarter. …Drummond later added a 5-yard touchdown run while Fisher tossed touchdowns to Jack Johnson (59 yards) and Alden Wright (40 yards).

How the game was won: Jefferson County tied the game at 6-6 in the first half after a Tyler Williams 5-yard run. Ty Bell started the second half with a 34-yard rushing score. With the game locked at 13-13, Bell connected with Jakota Turner for a 16-yard touchdown pass, securing the win for Warriors.
Top Performers: Ty Bell rushed for one touchdown and threw for another, including the game-winner to Jakota Turner from 16 yards out… Tyler Williams ran in a 5-yard Warriors touchdown right before the half.
Screven County 41, Harlem 0
How the game was won: Screven County put up 35 points in the first half and cruised to a 41-point victory. In the first quarter, Screven’s defense held Harlem to negative seven yards of total offense.
Top Performers: Jermany Hawkins led the offensive charge for Screven County. In the first quarter, he scored on a 13-yard run before housing a 87-yard touchdown run in the second quarter. He finished the night with 180 yards on 11 carries.
Wesleyan 13, Hapeville Charter 7
How the game was won: The low scoring contest was dominated by two defenses that were up to the task. The Wolves however, got slightly more to finish off the Hornets. Harrison Cook picked off Mack Green with 12 seconds left to hold on. Wesleyan picked off three Green passes after Green entered the game with only four interceptions all season.
Top Performers: Drew Aspinwall, Cole Mannion and Harrison Cook all came away with key interceptions for Wesleyan. ..Jordan Weaver added two field goals, one in the second quarter and one in the third quarter with 6:51 left to play. Weaver had a chance to extend the lead twice in the fourth quarter, but Hapeville blocked his first attempt and Weaver missed on his second. …Banks Ramsey scored on a keeper at the 6:30 mark of the first quarter.

Fellowship Christian 41, King’s Ridge 7
How the game was won: The Paladins snapped a 2-game losing streak and got back to their defensive ways to shut down the Tiger offense. King’s Ridge led 7-0 after one, but the rushing attack revved up and powered the Paladin offense past the Tigers. In Fellowship Christian’s now three wins this season, they have allowed 7, 0 and 7 points. In losses, they have given up 30 and 31 points.
Top Performers: Tyler Matthesen punched in a touchdown run to tie the score at 7 with 3:24 left in the second quarter. …Quarterback Jack Hardin scored on a 1-yard keeper. …Ryan Reid scored his first touchdown of the season on a 23-yard run in the fourth quarter. …Andrew Minkert rumbled in 5-yards at the 5:41 mark of the fourth to make it 35-7.

How the game was won: The Wolverines rolled to 6-0 thanks to a stingy defense and tough running. The 14 points is the most points allowed this season by a stalwart defensive group. Noah Campbell and Jordan Ginnell both picked off passes in the win.
