South Gwinnett’s Taylor Harris (pictured) will be one of the girls to play tonight in the Gwinnett County Senior All-Star basketball doubleheader at Grayson High School. The girls will tipoff at 6:30 p.m. followed by the boys’ game at 8. The senior All-Stars match players from Region 8-AAAAAA schools against those from Region 7-AAAAAA as well as some athletes from the county’s smaller classification schools. Taylor is one of the unsigned players participating in the game and looking to continue her basketball career in college. She averaged more than eight points a game this season and is considered to have tremendous potential.
“It’s more so on the girls side as far as unsigned players this year looking to make a statement,” said Grayson boys head coach and event director Brian Anderson to the Gwinnett Daily Post. “But there’s plenty of talent. I think the big thing this year in the boys game is that the 3-point shooting will be better (than last year). The kids have been just lighting it up (from long range) in practice. And I think the girls game will be more competitive than last year.”
