HEELS DIG IN: North Carolina routs Michigan State to win second title in five years

The North Carolina Tar Heels scored the most points (55) and had the biggest lead (21 points) at the half on their way to an 89-72 blowout of the Michigan State Spartans in the National Championship game. The win gives Roy Williams and the Tar Heels their second title in five years.

The game set the record for attendance at a title contest, with an official number of 72,922 fans present at Ford Field in Detroit.
