Centennial 28, Lambert 21: Drew Cole, Trevor O’Brien and Hunter Shepard ran in first half touchdowns to give visiting Lambert a 21-0 lead. The Knights’ rally began with a touchdown pass from Casen Conway to Marcus Beck as time expired before the half. Conway ran in a 7-yard touchdown to cut Lambert’s lead to 21-14 in the third quarter and tossed his second touchdown pass to Malik Muhammad to tie it at 21-21. Conway accounted for his fourth touchdown and ran in the game-winning score with 1:31 left in the final quarter.

Central Gwinnett 30, South Gwinnett 25: Azaviar Kufour caught a touchdown pass from Eric Forrest for the go-ahead score with a minute to play. Forrest had three touchdown passes, two to Chris Shelling, and Central Gwinnett also got a punt block and touchdown return from Nigel Adams.

Cherokee 35, Wheeler 26: Tabius Padgett put visiting Wheeler ahead 7-0 with a 60-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. The Wildcats added big plays, including a 67-yard interception return for a score and touchdown passes of 71 and 75 yards. Cherokee opened with a Spencer Ashley touchdown pass to Colton Rozanske and then Brittain Brown took over with two touchdown runs in the second quarter, a 21-yard touchdown in the third quarter and a his fourth touchdown to ice the game and give the Warriors the 35-26 lead.

East Coweta 17, Whitewater 14: Quarterback Will LaGuardia scored on a 1-yard run in the third quarter to lead the Indians to an upset over No. 9 Whitewater. LaGuardia completed 10 of 15 passes for 140 yards. East Coweta also got a 22-yard touchdown pass from running back Kevin Lashley to Devonte Brown. Lernilous Newsom also scored on a short run for the Indians. Whitewater led 14-10 at halftime, but was shut out in the second half.

Etowah 35, Pope 20: Raishod Devezin and Robbie Knox ran for first quarter touchdowns to give host Etowah a 14-0 lead. After a scoreless second quarter and a missed Etowah field goal, Scottie Morgan rushed for a touchdown to extend the lead to 21-0. The teams traded quarterback sneaks to end the third and Brian Terry ran for a Pope touchdown to cut the deficit to 28-12 with 8:37 left. Etowah junior Vincent Riley answered with the Eagles’ fifth rushing score and pushed the lead to 35-12.

Lakeside-DeKalb 42, Campbell 38: Lakeside-DeKalb scored the final 14 points of a back-and-forth thriller to edge host Campbell. The Vikings trailed 14-0 in the first quarter, 21-7 in the second, 24-14 in the third and 38-28 in the fourth. They briefly took a 28-24 lead late in the third before Campbell responded with 14 unanswered points of its own. Kelleyan Walker, who has 10 touchdowns through three weeks of this season, scored the game-winner with less than three minutes remaining. Daryl Patterson had a 41-yard fumble return for a touchdown to lead the Vikings’ defensive effort and he also set up Walker’s go-head score in the third quarter with an interception.

Lovejoy 27, Hillgrove 24: The host Wildcats won the game on a 21-yard field goal by Jose Perez with 12 seconds left. Lovejoy tied the game at 24 earlier in the fourth quarter on a 61-yard pass from quarterback Quintarious Neely to wide receiver Preston Williams. Hill grove led 10-7 at the half and 17-10 at the end of three quarters. Lovejoy also scored in the fourth quarter on a rack and fumble recovery by Toryan Bell. Neely scored the first Lovejoy touchdown in the second quarter on a 2-yard run.

Lowndes 45, Rockdale County 15: Vikings quarterback Austin Dixon threw for three touchdown passes on 12 of 17 passing for 154 yards. Host Lowndes led 16-7 at the half before piling on 22 third-quarter points. Dezmon Copeland rushed for 68 yards to lead Lowndes while Nathan Brantley ran for a 4-yard score and Luis Rigal rushed for two 1-yard scores. Lowndes rushed for 215 yards and held Rockdale County to 66 on the ground. Rockdale County owned the scoring in the first on a 7-yard run by Tajuan Warren.

Meadowcreek 14, Clarkston 7: Host Meadowcreek won a low-scoring defensive affair against Clarkston in the rain. The Mustangs were able to force two missed field goals in the second quarter. The Angoras struggled against the Meadowcreek pass rush as Zaire Madison tallied two sacks. Meadowcreek struck first on a Kalu Onumah 18-yard touchdown pass to Terrence Newborn. A Clarkston interception return for touchdown tied it back at 7. Onumah scored the go-ahead touchdown from 20 yards out. A Dequan Harris interception sealed it with 1:27 left.

Northview 49, North Forsyth 0: Visiting Northview moved to 3-0 for the first time in school history in convincing fashion. Quarterback D.J. Pearson threw three touchdown passes in the first half, including a 20-yard toss to Jair Anderson as time expired. Nate Phillips extended the lead to 28-0 in the third quarter with a 64-yard run and Devin Johnson added a 12-yard scamper to make it 42-0. The final Northview touchdown came on a 100-yard interception return for a touchdown by Earnest Gunn.

Pebblebrook 7, Alcovy 6: Host Pebblebrook scored the go-ahead touchdown with 4:35 left to play when Jakobe Burke threw a touchdown pass to Hakeem Bailey, and Eddie Castaneda added the extra point for the 1-point victory. The play was set up by Daniel Brown’s interception inside the Pebblebrook 10-yard line on Alcovy’s previous possession. Alcovy scored a touchdown in the first quarter, but missed the extra point.

South Forsyth 49, Habersham Central 7: Bennett Black completed a 12-yard touchdown pass to Jeremy Jones to give host Habersham Central an early 7-0 lead, but South Forsyth went on a 35-0 run to close the first half and outscored the Raiders 49-0 after the lone touchdown. Tyler LaFlamme ran in South Forsyth’s first two touchdowns and recovered a Corey Milton blocked punt for his third touchdown that gave South Forsyth a 21-7 lead. Cameron Kline opened the second half with another South Forsyth fumble recovery and touchdown that made it 42-7.

Valdosta 10, Thomasville 0 : The Valdosta Wildcats have given up only 10 points in four games this season. The host Wildcats’ Seth Shuman completed a touchdown pass to Khalil McClain with 5:51 remaining in the game to secure Valdosta victory against Thomasville. Shuman passed nine times and completed two for 38 yards and a touchdown.The 8th-ranked Wildcats, who had not played Thomasville since 1985, improved to 4-0. Valdosta scored first on a 25-yard field goal from Brennan Goodson with 7:55 remaining in the first half. Most of the game was played in a driving downpour, and there was a lengthy lightning delay after Goodson’s field goal.

West Forsyth 23, Chattahoochee 15: Visiting West Forsyth lead 3-0 at halftime and piled it on the second half. Running back Austin Reid scored two touchdowns, including one on a 51-yard run in the third quarter while quarterback Hampton McConnell passed for another in the fourth quarter to put the game out of reach. West Forsyth ran for 182 yards as a team, with running back Grant Torgerson and McConnell combining for 130 yards. Chattahoochee mustered just 105 yards of total offense and committed two turnovers in the ballgame.

Alexander 49, Chapel Hill 11: Alexander defended their home turf using a balanced offensive attack. Baylor Whitfield was 9 of 11 for 197 yards and three touchdowns. Caleb Freeman did his damage on the ground rushing for 94 yards and a touchdown. Whitfield found three different receivers for touchdowns: Torrell Graham, Leon Agee and Isaac Zico. Isaiah Casey and Conner Perry also scored via the ground. Chapel Hill struggled moving the ball totaling 74 yards passing and 38 yards rushing.

Kell 49, Sequoyah 35: Kell saw almost all of a 27-0 first-half advantage disappear before holding on to beat host Sequoyah. Cameron Rosendahl rushed for two touchdowns and also tossed a scoring strike to Josh Blancato to lead the Longhorns. Bryson Armstrong also hauled in a touchdown pass from Blancato on a trick play. Itabari Mason added a touchdown run for Kell and Ivan Walls returned a kickoff for a score. Sequoyah got to within 41-35 in the fourth quarter before the Longhorns tacked on the game-clinching touchdown.

Lanier 27, Flowery Branch 12: Tahj Tolbert threw touchdown passes to Ashton Barnes (19 yards) and Tim Leazer (36 yards) as host Lanier led 18-12 at halftime and pulled away from there. Mason Harwood started the scoring for Lanier with a 20-yard field goal in the first quarter, and made a 31-yard field goal in the third. Tario Fuller capped the scoring for Lanier with a 6-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter. Safety Canyon Cook had two interceptions for Lanier.

Locust Grove 48, Pike County 19: Cameron Maddox scored on a quarterback sneak and added three touchdown passes to lift visiting Locust Grove. Champ Leddon also had a four touchdown performance with a pair of touchdown runs and receptions. Pike County’s Tra Taylor cut the deficit to 13-7 at the end of the first quarter with a touchdown run, but Aubry Payne’s touchdown reception put Locust Grove back up 20-7 before the half. Grant Jones scored twice in the second half and cut the Locus Grove’s lead to 34-19 but Edwin Irby eventually ran in the Wildcats’ final score.

Luella 52, Forest Park 12: Host Luella poured on a school-record 52 points that was fueled by the Lions’ opportunistic defense. Luella took a 26-0 lead after the opening quarter with a Darius Stubbs rushing touchdown and three defensive touchdowns. Frank Turnage and Mark Brooks returned interceptions for touchdowns and Kindell Bell returned a fumble recovery for a touchdown in the first and Luella extended the lead to a comfortable 39-0 advantage at the half. The Lions had four defensive touchdowns.

New Manchester 33, Villa Rica 23: Visiting New Manchester downed the host Wildcats. New Manchester jumped out to a big lead and was able to hold on after a valiant Villa Rica comeback. Tim Daniel picked off a Jaguars pass early in the game for the Wildcats. New Manchester struck first with 7:25 in the first before Villa Rica’s Noah Smith found Marquis McPhaul to tie the game at 7. The Jags held a 21-7 lead at the half. McPhaul added another touchdown and Tye Hill caught a touchdown from Smith late in the fourth.

River Ridge 20, North Springs 14: Tremain Carr ran for 226 yards and a touchdown for visiting River Ridge, and Michael Lewis added 108 yards on the ground. Quarterback Marcus Spears had a short touchdown run in the third quarter to put River Ridge ahead for good. A safety and a fumble recovery for a touchdown by linebacker DeAndre Salmon finished off the scoring.

Ola 29, McIntosh 14: Host Ola disposed of McIntosh after pulling away in the second half. A trick play set the tone for the Mustangs as they scored on a hook-and-ladder play. After McIntosh tied the game, Ola tackled the Chiefs’ quarterback in the end zone for a safety and a 9-7 lead. Tyler Pippens and AJ Stoghill both scored first half touchdowns for the Mustangs. Ola picked off a Duke Kinamon pass in the end zone before the half to preserve a 15-7 lead. Joseph Rushing scored on a 35 yard run to push the lead to 29-14 late in the third.

South Paulding 24, East Paulding 14: South Paulding was shut out in the first half, but its offense woke up in the second to overcome host East Paulding. The Spartans took their first lead at 17-14 when Brittany Havenner kicked a 27-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and they tacked on a late touchdown for the final 10-point margin. Jake Oglesby threw a 20-yard touchdown to L.J. Pope and found James Story with a 55-yard scoring strike to lead South Paulding. Oglesby also scored on a quarterback keeper.

Sprayberry 58, Woodland-Bartow 0: Visiting Sprayberry set a school record for most points in a game and recorded its first shutout since the 2011 season. Rakeem Myricks led with four rushing touchdowns and the Yellow Jackets accumulated 492 rushing yards off 34 carries. Trey Sermon, London Roberson and D.J. Worthy ran in Sprayberry touchdowns and senior Jason Simmons recovered a fumble for a touchdown. Rodrigo Blankenship extended Sprayberry’s 28-0 lead with a third-quarter field goal.

Cass 13, Forsyth Central 6: Cass broke a 6-6 tie with two minutes to play when Trevor Lowe found Walter Brown for a 29-yard touchdown pass. Cornerback Seth Hughes intercepted Forsyth Central near midfield to seal the win for host Cass. Pablo Delores brought Cass back from a 6-0 deficit with field goals in the second and fourth quarters.

Columbia 55, Stone Mountain 0: Antonio Manson had 12 carries for 160 yards for the home Columbia team en route to a thrashing of Stone Mountain. QB Andre Brown threw two touchdowns to secure a 35-0 lead at the half. Clemson commit Shadell Bell scored a rushing touchdown to open the third quarter and lifted the score to 42-0. Home Columbia would score two more rushing touchdowns and end the game 55-0 for their second win of the season.

Dalton 44, North Atlanta 3: Visiting North Atlanta scored the first three points of the game, but the last 44 belonged to Dalton. Payton Veraldi connected with Peter Sigmon on a long pass with 6:20 remaining in the first quarter to put Dalton ahead 7-3. The Catamounts ramped it up in the second quarter scoring on a Logan Pender 5-yard touchdown run and then a Veraldi 9-yarder. Isai Hernandez tacked on a 28-yard field goal just before the half to move Dalton ahead 24-3. Veraldi found Sigmon one more time for a 31-yard touchdown pass. Jase Chastain finished the scoring by rushing 40 yards to pay dirt.

Eagle’s Landing 16, Jonesboro 8: Antonio Gibson gave visiting Eagle’s Landing a 6-0 lead with an 85-yard punt return for a touchdown in the opening quarter. After a successful 2-point conversion, the Eagles extended the lead to 16-0 before the half with a 7-yard touchdown pass from George McDonald to Aaron Dore and another successful conversion. Joneboro had a kickoff return for a touchdown called back for a penalty in the second half but finally got on the board with an interception return for a touchdown. Eagle’s Landing had three turnovers in a span of four possessions in the second half, but the Eagles’ defense was able to hold the Jonesboro offense scoreless.

Locust Grove 48, Pike County 19: Cameron Maddox scored on a quarterback sneak and added three touchdown passes to lift visiting Locust Grove. Champ Leddon also had a four-touchdown performance with a pair of touchdown runs and receptions. Pike County’s Tra Taylor cut the deficit to 13-7 at the end of the first quarter with a touchdown run but Aubry Payne’s touchdown reception put Locust Grove back up 20-7 before the half. Grant Jones scored twice in the second half and cut the Locus Grove’s lead to 34-19 but Edwin Irby eventually ran in the Wildcats’ final score.

St. Pius X 38, Lithonia 7: Host St. Pius X earned its first win of the season as Dalton Wilson ran wild scoring three touchdowns. Lawson Cooper started the rushing attack scoring on a 31-yard touchdown run. Wilson then added touchdown runs of 15 and a six yards. St. Pius X led 31-0 at the half. Lithonia’s Rob Hatchet connected with Oral Varcciann for a 58-yard touchdown in the fourth for the Bulldogs only score of the night. The Golden Lions produced 341 yards of offense in the win, while Lithonia totaled 310 yards.

Sandy Creek 31, Newnan 14: Ole Miss-commitment Eric Swinney was too difficult to handle as he rumbled for three touchdowns for visiting Sandy Creek. Swinney’s first visit to the end zone was with 7:35 remaining in the first. Darryel Hines scored for Newnan to make it 7-7 after a Frankie Williams interception. The Patriots led 14-7 at the half. The defense took control in second half tallying an interception and blocked field goal to extend the Patriots’ lead to 31-7.

White County 31, Pace Academy 17: Max Taylor rushed nine times for 175 yards and a touchdown to lead host White County past Pace Academy. Included in Taylor’s performance was a 94-yard run, at the end of which he was pulled down on the 1-yard line. The Warriors trailed 10-9 at halftime but eventually overcame the Knights in part thanks to Maurice Sutton and A.J. Vandiver. Sutton carried 11 times for 120 yards and scored on an 82-yard jaunt. He also had two interceptions on defense. Vandiver had 14 carries for 73 yards and a touchdown.

Blessed Trinity 37, Creekview 0: The visiting Titans outgained Creekview 459-97 in total yards and cashed in on three forced turnovers, including a Jonathan Martin fumble recovery for a touchdown that proved to be the games final points. Elijah Hamilton rushed for 108 yards on 11 carries and scored two touchdowns. Titans quarterback Conor Davis completed 12-of-15 passes for 201 yards and Matthew Higgins and Chris Siebert each hauled in touchdown receptions. Mitch Rostowsky added a 32-yard field goal in the third quarter to extend Blessed Trinity’s 27-0 halftime lead.

Washington County 43, Veterans 3:  A.J. Gray accounted for five touchdowns and a 2-point conversion in No. 1 Washington County’s victory against Veterans. Gray scored on runs of 1, 32, and 45 yards, and completed touchdown passes of 58 yards to Stacy Thompson and 29 yards to Logan Hunt. Gray, a Georgia Tech commitment, also added a 2-point conversion run. Washington County led 35-3 at half. The game was called late in the fourth quarter because of threatening weather.

Westminster 24, Elbert County 7: The visiting Wildcats travelled to the famous Granite Bowl in Elberton and outscored the Blue Devils 17-0 in the second half to clinch the victory. Isaiah Malcome returned the opening kickoff of the second half 71 yards to give Westminster its first lead of the night at 10-7. Malcome also led the Wildcats in rushing yards with 94. Davis Houk rushed for a 5-yard score in the third quarter and Keller Harper ran for a 10-yard touchdown in the final period. Westminster totaled 210 yards and gave up 237, but caused three turnovers.

Darlington 23, King’s Ridge 6: Darlington finished off King’s Ridge after an 1-hour rain delay. Darlington dominated the contest thanks to 100 yards rushing and two interceptions by senior Trent Edge. Darlington moves to 2-1 and hosts Bowdon at home next week.

Lovett 21, Woodward Academy 20: The host Lions leapt to a 21-0 lead in the third quarter, then survived a furious Woodward comeback. Lions quarterback Willie Candler accounted for three touchdowns, two of which were passes to Will Geraghty (8 and 10 yards). Woodward running back Elijah Holyfield ran for touchdowns of two and seven yards while quarterback Jes Southerland tossed a touchdown pass to Josh Johnson for nine yards with 34 seconds left. However, Lovett blocked the extra point to preserve its victory. Holyfield ran for 260 yards while Candler rushed for 123.

Aquinas 44, Our Lady of Mercy 20: Ruben Garnett paced Aquinas to a dominant first half and a rout of visiting Our Lady of Mercy. Prior to intermission, Garnett rushed for 167 yards and two touchdowns. The Fightin’ Irish, who led 27-7 after the opening quarter, also got 206 passing yards and two touchdowns from Liam Welch. Justin Gibbs hauled in an 80-yard touchdown pass from Welch to begin the game’s scoring as Aquinas extended its winning streak dating back to last year to 17.

Mount Pisgah 28, Eagle’s Landing Christian 21: Aaron Winchester completed 10 of 16 passes for 181 yards and two touchdowns to lead Mount Pisgah past visiting Eagle’s Landing Christian. Winchester also rushed 111 yards while scoring from five yards away in the fourth quarter and from 34 yards out in the fourth. Eagle’s Landing Christian scored one play after blocking a punt late in the final quarter to get within seven points and also recovered the ensuing onside kick. The Chargers’ final drive, however, stalled inside the Patriots’ 20-yard line. Jordan Scott and Jacob Greene had touchdown catches for Mount Pisgah.
