Harrison sits at No. 2 and has won 13 consecutive matches since its loss to top-ranked Walton. In Class AAAAA,Sequoyah’s perfect season came to an end with a pair of losses to Tennessee powerhouse Brentwood over the weekend. The 24-2 Chiefs remain at No. 1 and the only significant changes in the Class AAAAA top 10 this week were Camden County’s jump to No. 6 and the debut of Northside-Columbus and Allatoona. Starr’s Milland River Ridge fell out of this week’s poll.
In Class AAAA,Woodward Academy swept Marist on Friday and moves to No. 2 behind Buford. Sandy Creek topped St. Pius X 2-1 on Saturday and moves to No. 4 behind Marist. The Golden Lions dropped to No. 5. Southeast Whitfield and Heritage-Catoosa debuted at No. 8 and No. 10, respectively.In Class AAA, Blessed Trinity’s only in-state losses have been to Sequoyah and Harrison and the Titans continue to hold No. 1 with a 24-4 season record.
Rockmart replaces Kendrick at No. 8.In Class AA, Wesleyan beat top-ranked Holy Innocents’ (21-25, 25-22, 25-18) but improved to No. 2 and have not unseated the Bears yet. Wesleyan’s stretch to end August that saw the Wolves keeps them out of the top slot.
