FINALLY FOR FAVORS: Nation’s top basketball player gets elusive state championship

South Atlanta defeated Westover, 81-62, for the Class 3A boys basketball title in Macon on Saturday. For senior Derrick Favors, the recent winner of the Naismith Award as the country’s top basketball player, it was a fitting sendoff with the school’s first-ever state title. It was Westover’s seventh appearance in the state title game.
