Mike Rogers is a 6-foot, 185-pounds safety that is committed to the University of Central Florida. Rogers projects to be one of the best safety prospects in the nation, but what is most impressive about Rogers was his ability to spark plays in every facet of the game like he did for the Campbell Spartans this season. Rogers’ effort earned him the Marietta Daily Journal Cobb County Player of the Year this season. While starting at safety and tallying 85 tackles, five forced fumbles and three interceptions, Rogers also ran the ball 197 times for 1,735 yards and 23 touchdowns and on special teams he returned 15 kickoffs for 651 yards, taking three all the way for touchdowns and returned six punts for 156 yards and a touchdown.
Rogers is one of the toughest players in the state and University of Central Florida will be able to use him in a variety of ways. Rogers tackles with authority and has incredible fundamentals and instincts. Many who have seen the three-star play in person, consider him one of the biggest steals in this year’s recruiting class and his head coach Harris Rainbow told the Marietta Daily Journal, “I grew up in Cobb County and he [Mike Rogers] is the best player this county has ever seen.”
