Garrett Reed, a junior wide receiver on Harrison’s football team, was killed early Saturday morning in a head-on collision less than a mile from the school. His funeral will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Powder Springs, and visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. on Monday at West Cobb Funeral Home. Reed is the second Harrison student in a short time to lose his life in a traffic accident. In 2006, lacrosse and football player Luke Abbate, brother of former Harrison and Wake Forest football star Jon Abbate, was killed in a car crash.
