Glynn Academy defensive lineman Cordarro Stoute has shown great leadership on and off the field. He led the defensive line in tackles with 33 to go along with four sacks and one fumble recovery. He also had 12 assists and 16 QB pressures, so he knows how to make his presence felt even if he doesn’t get to the ball carrier.
He also makes his presence felt around the community as he coaches youth football camps in the summer and takes his teammates to local elementary schools to play football with the kids. He’s a well-rounded student-athlete who will likely excel at the next level.
With Glynn Academy’s season coming to a close Cordarro has focused on finishing the school semester strong before he starts handling the recruiting front. He has developed a solid relationship thus far with Georgia State, Georgia Southern and Georgia. This past summer, he went to each of those three schools camps and has been in contact with them throughout the season.
“I really enjoyed the Georgia State camp because I got along with the coaches very well,” Stoute said. “I learned very useful techniques that helped me in this past season.”
Georgia State was helpful developing him as a player, but his heart lies in Athens. “What can I say? I’m a Bulldogs fan and I was excited to meet and be coached by UGA coaches,” Stoute said of his trip to Dawg Night.
During the spring semester Stoute also competes in shot put and discus for Glynn Academy’s track team, but his passion for football reigns supreme over any sport.
“Football is where my heart is. I play during the fall and during the summer I volunteer at youth football camps,” Cordarro explained.
Even when he is volunteering at a local Pizza Inn that’s located in Brunswick, Stoute brings along some of his football players, never being completely separated from the game. When Stoute and his football buddies aren’t volunteering or playing for Glynn Academy, he likes to get them all to go over to the local elementary school to play with the younger kids. Stoute likes to teach kids about the game that means so much to him.
