Parkview coach Cecil Flowe announced his retirement after his Panthers completed a comeback win while No. 1 North Gwinnett crashed and Norcross won another big region game.

Archer 48, South Gwinnett 31: Will Bearden scored on a 60-yard touchdown reception and Connor Redmond added a 12-yard touchdown catch to give host Archer a 14-3 first-quarter advantage. Archer’s Randy Nails added a pair of touchdown runs and K.J. Parmer and quarterback Gabe Tiller ran in scores. Archer clinched its first region title in school history.
Brookwood 14, Berkmar 0: Brookwood posted its second shutout of the season in its victory over Berkmar. The host Broncos got 218 passing yards from Joey McLane. He threw one scoring strike, a 59-yard pass to Matthew Price en route to a 7-0 halftime lead. Jesse Brown added a 6-yard touchdown run to put the game away for Brookwood.
Campbell 49, Kennesaw Mountain 35: Running back Mike Rogers was the difference-maker for Campbell, rushing for 302 yards and four touchdowns on 28 carries. Fellow backfield mate Cameron St. Cyr had seven rushes for 69 yards and a score. Marvin Horne grabbed two touchdown receptions for the Spartans.
Cherokee 34, Roswell 29: After trailing 26-14 entering the fourth quarter, the host Warriors scored a touchdown with fewer than 10 seconds on the clock for the comeback victory. Spencer Ashley led the comeback with two fourth-quarter touchdown passes. He ended the game 24-of-43 passing for 244 yards and three touchdowns. Blace Brown had 10 receptions for 139 yards and a touchdown.
Colquitt County 17, Valdosta 10: The visiting Wildcats took a 10-3 lead after quarterback Seth Shuman hit tight end Khalil McClain for a touchdown in the first quarter. Colquitt County bounced back to score twice and take a 17-10 lead in the second half. Shuman led Valdosta on a potential game-tying drive, but came up two yards short of a first down with just under two minutes left.
Lassiter 35, Wheeler 28: Senior Will Anderson threw for four touchdowns in the first half. Oris Lawhorn caught two of the touchdown passes from Anderson, while Michael Curran and Duby Nwaubi each had one touchdown catch. Mason Waters ran for a 40-yard touchdown early in the second half to help Lassiter retain the lead.
Lovejoy 56, Newton 23: Visiting Lovejoy took a 28-9 lead into halftime after Khaleel Rogers found junior Preston Williams for a 94-yard touchdown pass. Quarterback Quintarius Neely extended the lead with a 72-yard completion to Kevin Morris for a touchdown and Neely connected with Williams an 81-yard catch and score. Williams added a 76-yard punt return in the third quarter and Montrell Curtis added a 45-yard interception return for a touchdown. Derico Tilley ran in two scores in the win.
Lowndes 28, Tift County 7: Resurgent Lowndes won its fourth straight game – all in Region 1-AAAAAA – after losing to Colquitt County in the region opener. The host Vikings held Tift County to 139 total yards and held the Blue Devils to no offensive touchdowns. Tift County’s lone score came on a blocked punt returned for a touchdown in the first quarter. Lowndes caused five Tift County turnovers.
Newnan 28, Douglas County 7: Newnan caused five turnovers (three interceptions and two fumble recoveries) in its win over the Tigers. Newnan led 7-0 at the break but poured it on in the second half as the turnovers mounted for Douglas County. Tonarius Portress’ 67-yard touchdown dash in the third quarter opened the scoring for Newnan.
North Cobb 28, Pebblebrook 3: The visiting Warriors controlled the game behind the steady play of quarterback Tyler Queen. Queen threw three touchdown passes to give North Cobb a commanding fourth-quarter lead. Torrance McGee and J’Vonte Herrod each caught a touchdown pass.
North Forsyth 28, Centennial 24: Zac Slaton scored on a 4-yard touchdown run with one minute remaining in the game to help North Forsyth get past Centennial. The visiting Knights had taken the lead less than a minute earlier only to see North Forsyth’s Jake Hubbard catch a 70-yard screen pass from Dakota Gottberg to set up the winning score. Centennial tried to answer, but Logan Cross of the Raiders made a game-saving interception on the 1-yard line with five seconds left. Gottberg also threw a touchdown pass to Luke Slaton for North Forsyth.
Parkview 21, Central Gwinnett 13: According to a story by the Gwinnett Daily Post, Parkview head coach Cecil Flowe announced his retirement after his team’s win, effective at the end of the season. The inspired Panthers erased a 13-7 halftime deficit to overcome visiting Central Gwinnett. Justis Rosser rushed 32 times for 176 yards and one touchdown before Bryce Lewis sealed the win with a late interception.
South Forsyth 52, Johns Creek 21: The host War Eagles jumped out on top early behind the passing of quarterback Matt White, who completed seven of 12 passes for 105 yards and a touchdown. Running back Tyler LaFlamme rushed for touchdowns of five and 44 yards, finishing with 109 rushing yards on 12 carries for South Forsyth. Austin Ataide had an interception for South Forsyth.
West Forsyth 48, Chattahoochee 21: The host Wolverines rushed for a total of 275 yards. West Forsyth quarterback Hampton McConnell had 238 yards of total offense, threw for one touchdown and ran for another. Kyran Ochoki caught four passes for 97 yards and a touchdown. Trevor O’Brien had 134 yards from scrimmage and a touchdown for West Forsyth.
Westlake 13, Tri-Cities 7: The Lions posted rushing touchdowns by Demetrius Beverly (27 yards) and Jorden Thomas (four yards) to edge their Fulton County neighbors. Westlake led 7-0 at the half and 13-0 heading into the fourth quarter. Tri-Cities made it interesting late, but Westlake’s defense prevented the Bulldogs from any late heroics.

Allatoona 44, Hiram 7: Junior running back Josh Bettistea tallied 295 yards with four touchdowns on 20 carries for Allatoona. The Buccaneers’ defense forced four fumbles and recovered all of them. Allatoona had 380 yards of total offense and played with reserves for the majority of the second half.
Creekside 41, McIntosh 10: Creekside’s Bryson Terry and Dexter Knox each rushed for first-half scores and quarterback Felix Harper threw touchdowns to Jayson Stanley and Darvin Williams as the Seminoles led 25-7 at the half. Williams caught another touchdown from Harper and Terry rushed for another score for Creekside in the second half.
Kell 53, Sprayberry 7: Host Kell was led by running back Darian Harris, who had two rushing touchdowns of 80 yards or more as well as a 33-yard touchdown pass to Julian Burris. Burris also opened the game with a 99-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.
Mundy’s Mill 24, Union Grove 17: With a solid defensive outing, the host Tigers were able to hold on late after fumbling the football with two minutes to go. The opportunity to tie the game was thwarted when the Tigers’ defense forced its sixth turnover of the game. Running back Rodney Smith led the way with 288 rushing yards and two touchdowns.
Sequoyah 31, Northview 21: Lex Lauletta of host Sequoyah threw for two touchdowns and ran for another. His first touchdown pass was to Darrion Rakestraw for 65 yards. He also hit Nick Falco for a touchdown before his 1-yard run, which sealed the victory for Sequoyah. Jake Garner also added a 70-yard touchdown run for Sequoyah.
South Paulding 24, East Paulding 17: Jae Bowen posted two rushing touchdowns, including the game-winner with fewer than two minutes on the clock in the fourth quarter for the Spartans. Quarterback Chandler Burks also rushed for a score. Kicker Brittany Havenner was perfect on her extra points and added a field goal in the win.
Tucker 55, Miller Grove 12: Elijah Sullivan rushed for three touchdowns, all in the first half for Tucker. The visiting Tigers led 27-0 after one quarter, 34-6 at halftime and 48-6 heading into the fourth quarter. Joseph Proby added an interception for a touchdown to cap off Tucker’s scoring. Dominick Sanders, Joseph Farrar and Myles Donaldson also had touchdown runs.

Carrollton 63, Alexander 21: The visiting Trojans scored on their first seven possessions and took a 49-7 halftime lead. Carrollton rushed for 325 yards and had four different rushers account for six scores. Trey Chivers rushed seven times for 105 yards and a score while Jarvis Terrell had 13 carries for 92 yards.
Cedartown 54, Cass 28: Georgia-commitment Nick Chubb rushed for 275 yards and four touchdowns on 29 carries for Cedartown. The Bulldogs led 41-21 at the half as Chubb had 219 yards and three touchdowns.
Jonesboro 37, Riverdale 27: The visiting Cardinals got off to a great start with an 80-yard kickoff return for a touchdown by Artemus Mitchell. Mitchell scored later on a 15-yard run to give Jonesboro a 2-score advantage. Octavious Troutman caught a 30-yard touchdown pass off of a botched field goal attempt to give Jonesboro a 23-13 halftime lead.
Lanier 31, Stephens County 14: The host Longhorns used a strong ground game to move one step closer to the playoffs. Halfback Tario Fuller carried the ball 24 times for 219 yards and a 41-yard touchdown. Grey Lee Williams returned a punt 70 yards for a touchdown in the first quarter. The Longhorns sealed the game on a 26-yard pass from Canyon Cook to Tim Leazer.
Marist 49, Stone Mountain 7: The visiting War Eagles led 42-0 at the half as quarterback Chase Martenson accounted for four first-half scores (three on the ground). Griffin King scored on a 47-yard touchdown run in the second quarter and Ian Werntz rushed for a 15-yard score in the third quarter. Marist rushed for 360 yards.
Troup 33, Fayette County 6: The host Tigers rushed their way to victory while their defense held the opposing offense scoreless. Daryl Dunlap (21 yards) and Dre Towns (eight yards) each had a rushing touchdown for Troup. Kelsey McCutcheon got the scoring started with a fumble returned for a touchdown and Quaydo Florence returned a kickoff for a touchdown.

Buford 45, Fannin County 8: Visiting Buford scored in the first quarter on a 40-yard screen pass from Montgomery VanGorder to Isaac Nauta and led 35-0 at the half. VanGorder had two passing touchdowns in the first half. Buford converted a fourth-and-14 with a minute left in the third to extend its lead to 42-0.
Cartersville 47, Adairsville 7: Collin Sapp rushed for a 6-yard touchdown to put visiting Cartersville ahead 7-0 in the opening quarter. Cartersville quarterback Brooks Barden added six touchdown passes. Gordon Gray and Brandon Long each recorded a touchdown and Kalin Heath and Mark Quattlebaum each finished with a pair of touchdowns grabs.
Decatur 49, Towers 20: The visiting Bulldogs clinched their second winning season in the past seven years after taking a 42-13 halftime lead. The only blemishes were two long kick-off returns for touchdowns. Quarterback Devontae Carter went 10-of-15 for 184 yards and two touchdowns that both went to freshman Dennis Bell. Fullback Nick Bentley took nine carries for 74 yards and three touchdowns.
Woodward Academy 42, St. Pius X 28: Visiting Woodward Academy’s Terry Googer threw for 165 yards and a touchdown and rushed for 180 yards and two scores. St. Pius X quarterback Joey Conners had 138 all-purpose yards with a rushing touchdown. The War Eagles totaled 470 yards of offense.

Greater Atlanta Christian 52, Hapeville Charter 7: Greater Atlanta Christian led 45-0 at the half and 52-0 after three quarters as it coasted past Hapeville Charter. Rafe Chapple completed six of eight passes for 114 yards and two touchdowns to lead the host Spartans. Greater Atlanta Christian also got 103 rushing yards and two scores from Jaelen Venable and a 39-yard interception return to the endzone by Ross Wood.
Lovett 41, Wesleyan 13: Host Lovett roared to a 35-0 halftime lead on the strength of two rushing touchdowns by Grant Haley (51, 3) and two touchdown passes by Willie Candler (46, 45). Miles Henderson added an 82-yard rushing score in the third quarter for the Lions on his only carry of the game.

Fellowship Christian 24, King’s Ridge Christian 21: Jake Williamson nailed a 45-yard field goal with 17 seconds remaining in the ballgame to complete the comeback and lift Fellowship Christian to its first-ever win over King’s Ridge. Quarterback Hunter Bryant was stellar on the field, completing 14-of-23 passes for 268 yards and three touchdowns.
Holy Innocents’ 17, Pace Academy 14: Walker Thomas kicked a 41-yard field goal with seven seconds left on the clock to win the game for Holy Innocents’. The Golden Bears utilized their ground game by rushing for 231 yards. Running backs Tre Wright and Clay Pfohl both scored touchdowns for Holy Innocents’.
