Trinity Christian (Fla.) 27, IMG Academy (Fla.) 24: Alabama-commit Bo Scarbrough took a screen-pass from Michael O’Connor 38 yards for a touchdown to give IMG Academy an early 9-8 lead. Trinity Christian answered with an Isaiah Ford 17-yard touchdown on a 4th-and-12 call to give the Conquerors the lead at 14-9. A 10-yard Scarbrough touchdown run cut the Trinity Christian lead to 20-17, but Jalin Buie scored the following possession on an 80-yard touchdown run to clinch the game.
Miramar (Fla.) 22, Flanagan (Fla.) 13: Visiting Flanagan held on to a 7-6 lead for much of the first half and was hoping to extend it with a 44-yard field goal attempt, but Kaywon Davis blocked the kick and Miramar teammate Andre Godfrey sprinted to the endzone to give the Patriots a 13-7 lead at the half. Miramar’s Nick Jeanty went 10 of 15 passing for 131 yards in the win and Gerald Hawkins went 7 of 8 for 74 yards to pace the Patriots’ offense. Kwasim West scored Miramar’s final touchdown on a 33-yard completion from Jeanty.
Walton (Ga.) 35, Wheeler (Ga.) 28 (OT): Visiting Wheeler took a 28-14 lead with 3:16 to play on an Allen Artis 65-yard interception return for a touchdown. Walton quarterback Price Wilson then found Bayley Wolff for a 6-yard touchdown pass to cut the Wheeler lead to 28-21. Walton sophomore running back Karekin Brooks scored the game-tying touchdown to force overtime. In the extra session, Walton converted a 4th-and-1 before Brooks found the endzone for his third touchdown of the game. Wheeler took over with a chance to force a second overtime, but the Wildcats’ 4th-and-15 desperation pass in fell incomplete.
Byrnes (S.C.) 61, Gaffney (S.C.) 20: Shuler Bentley led Byrnes in a rout of rival Gaffney. Bentley accounted for five touchdown passes, all traveling 18 yards or further. Running back Isaiah Hill caught one of the touchdown passes while also rushing for three scores. The other touchdowns went to Greg McHam with two and Shaedon Meadors and Tavin Richardson with one a piece. The scoring was capped off by a 68-yard touchdown run by Najee Bowens.
Picayune (Miss.) 56, George County (Miss.) 0: Preston Dedeaux paced Picayune with four rushing touchdowns and Daveon Green added a pair of rushing scores. DeAndre Anderson added a 1-yard touchdown run and quarterback Boderick Scott tossed the Maroon Tide’s final score of the game on a 3-yard pass to Alex Aaron.
Hoover (Ala.) 41, Minor (Ala.) 9: Bradrick Shaw ran in Hoover’s first three touchdowns and Justin Johnson added a 10-yard run in the final minute of the first half to give the Buccaneers a 28-7 lead at the intermission. Hoover quarterback Jack Hutcheson tossed a 28-yard touchdown to Hayden Scott and backup quarterback Micah Bagley entered the game and found John Etheridge for a 25-yard score.
Maryville (Tenn.) 66, William Blount (Tenn.) 7: Maryville raced to a 45-7 halftime lead with six first-half touchdowns and a field goal. Shawn Prevo added three rushing touchdowns and quarterback John Garrett ran for a pair of scores and threw for another in the win.
