Devin Mitchell is a rising senior from Collins Hill and received two more offers with LSU and Memphis adding to his collegiate fan mail per Dan McDonald Rivals.com. The 6-foot-3 shooting guard also has offers from Alabama, Butler, Georgia, Kansas State, Tennessee, Xavier, Cincinnati, Marquette, UAB and Wake Forest among others. Mitchell is considered a four-star recruit and averaged 21 points three assists and six rebounds as a junior.
Isaiah Wilkins’ 2013 state title run with Class AA Greater Atlanta Christian has garnered heavy attention for the 6-foot-8 small forward. Wilkins is the step-son of former Georgia Bulldog and Atlanta Hawks star Dominique Wilkins, and has been recruited strong by “Nique’s” alma mater UGA. This summer Wilkins has most recently been offered by Clemson, Florida State, Mississippi State, UAB and Wichita State among others.
Noah Dickerson is perhaps the most impressive blue chip headlining the class of 2015. The rising junior is a 6-foot-8, 245-pound power forward for North Atlanta. Georgetown appears to be the likely destination according to 247sports for Dickerson, but Georgia, Georgia Tech, Tennessee and Virginia are all invested in suiting up Dickerson in two years.
The University of Georgia got a big commitment this week with Hillgrove’s Mackenzie Engram. The 6-foot-2 forward is following in the collegiate footsteps of her older brother Evan Engram who graduated from Hillgrove this past year and will suit up for Ole Miss as a tight end. Mackenzie averaged 19 points, 10 rebounds, 3.6 steals and 2.1 blocks per game last season, and set a school record when she scored 33 points.
Pachiyaanna Roberts will also be taking her talents to Athens, as the former standout at McEachern High School and the 2011-2012 player of the year in Georgia, transferred from Syracuse to Georgia after her freshman year. Roberts will be able to practice this year with the Lady Bulldogs, but will not be able to participate in competition until the 2013-14 season when Engram will also be suiting up.
Roberts was not the only McEachern standout transferring back to the Peach State, as point guard Trae Golden made the decision to leave Tennessee after being a two-year starter. Unlike Roberts, Golden will not have to sit out for the upcoming season because of an NCAA family waiver. Golden averaged 12.1 points and 3.9 assists last year for Tennessee. Trae’s older sister graduated from Tech in 2008, and could have also factored in on his decision to leave Knoxville. Golden will likely take on a significant role for the Yellow Jackets this upcoming season.
