Grady closed out its football season with two one-point victories to finish 7-3 overall and 3-3 in Region 5B-AAA. The Grey Knights nipped the North Atlanta Warriors 21-20 in a region matchup on Oct. 31 and followed it up with a 14-13 win over Columbia in the season finale. … The volleyball team had its season ended in the first round of the state playoffs on Oct. 25 against Shaw. The Lady Grey Knights were awarded the No. 3 seed from the region. Head coach Jamila Fair’s squad finished at 7-4 in region play. … The boys cross country squad finished fifth in the Region 5-AAA championships on Nov. 1 at Mercer University in Atlanta. Holden Choi paced the squad at 25th overall while Alex Fritzinger-Pitman came in right behind Choi at 26th. The girls team finished fifth as well at the same event. As usual, Kelsey Roth led the team with a 12th-place finish. Nally Kinane came in just behind Roth at 14th while Leah Butterfield finished in 20th place for the Lady Knights.
