The GHSA Traditional Wrestling State Tournament gets underway this Thursday and runs through Saturday as 84 individual champions will be crowned and six teams will earn state titles. In the traditional tournament, individual grapplers, not teams will advance and wrestlers will earn points for their teams based on finishing in the top five. The wrestlers that will take part in the tournament have qualified through area and sectional meets over the past few weeks.
The action begins at the Macon Centreplex Thursday at 1 p.m. with a weigh-in and then the Round of 16 for AAAA-AAAAAA at 5:30 p.m. The finals will take place Saturday at 3 p.m. and CSS will air a state wrestling highlight show this Sunday, Feb. 17 from 3-5 p.m. It will re-air Monday, Feb. 18 at 7 a.m.
