Titans miss postseason with loss at Westminster

Blessed Trinity came into last Friday night fighting with Westminster for one of the last football playoff spots in Region 6-AA. The Titans gave up a lead late in the fourth quarter along with a spot in the playoffs. Sam Burkhalter rushed for 97 yards and Kohl Hegetschweiler passed for 196 yards and a touchdown. The two standout offensive performances weren’t enough, however, as the Titans lost 14-10. On Oct. 31, Blessed Trinity defeated Decatur by the lopsided score of 34-0. Sam Burkhalter was the workhorse for the Titans, carrying the ball 26 times for 175 yards and a touchdown. The passing game was also effective, as Kohl Hegetschweiler got three different players in on the touchdown fun. Jake Skole, Keenan Gomez and Michael Gray each caught a touchdown pass for the Titans in their 34-0 win. … The boys and girls cross country teams each finished third at the Region 6-AA Championship meet. The boys were paced by Thomas Langa, who came in 12th place overall, while the girls were led by Caroline Kirk, who finished sixth overall.
