Football falls to Kell and Campbell in final two

Although the football team was 3-5 heading into its game against Kell on Oct. 31, the Raiders had hoped to end their season on a positive note. The Raiders put up a good fight, but came up short against the Longhorns, losing 24-7 on senior night. After losing to Kell, the Raiders turned their focus to their final game against Campbell last Friday. The team was unable to stop Campbell, allowing the Spartans to put up 31 points. The Raiders lost the game 31-10. The Raiders finished the season with an overall record of 3-7 and a Region 6-AAAAA record of 2-7. Even though the Raiders have yet to make it to the state playoffs, they succeeded in bettering their record from last year, going from 2-8 overall and 0-5 in region play. … The boys basketball team is set to kick off its season in two weeks, playing in the North Gwinnett Thanksgiving Tournament. Tournament play will begin on Friday, Nov. 21. The team’s regular season does not start until early December. The girls basketball team is set to kick off its season on Nov. 22 at North Gwinnett.
